Good course, great staff, but found Golf Now App dissapointing

The course was very nice, lined with tall trees so shady on a hot day and walkable, with a few hills though.

Staff was very nice and very helpful.

Got a better deal at course than Golf Now App offered, still had to pay the Golf Now fees, still made more sense to eat the fees and re-book at course, kinda defeated the purpose but you live and learn. Will check direct booking of TeeTimes with courses in future to see which rate makes more sense.

Short, great scenery

Very beautiful on the back 9. Watched as a coyote tried to eat a blue heron. Lots of deer on the course also. Course is not very difficult.

Good old course

Good old course with lots of shade on a hot day! Stay out of the tree and score well. Not an easy walking course but can be done. East course is the best of the two

Needs work

The staff was great, very friendly. But the west course is in terrible shape for only being a couple months into summer. Tons of bare spots all over fairways and greens; dry, course grass on fairway. Greens had large and small aeration holes on a number of them, along with ruts and diseased spots that are not being fixed. It's July but there is still quite a bit of sand on several greens, affecting the roll and speed of a putt.

I won't play this course again.

Needs Help (Glendoveer West Course)

It is an easy course but needs serious attention to the fairways and greens. The greens are green, but very slow and bumpy and do not roll true.(Puts seem to have a mind of their own sometimes.) Fairways have many dead spots, not from lack of water though. Fairways were plugged in the spring, but have not healed well, and have died in some areas. For the money there are other course that are in MUCH better condition. Pace of play was good though, sand in the bunkers was actually excellent, but the fairway grass and greens need help.

What happened?

I have played at Glendoveer for over 20 years, though it has been a couple since the last time I played. The course was in the worst shape I have ever seen. It appeared as if it hadnt been watered in over a week. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in bad shape. Only 5 or 6 holes were in better than decent shape. The price was great, but I wouldve paid another 5 bucks or so to be able to hit off grass, and not have to put through burnt patches and aeration holes.

West side much easier

Played a 3 some on the West side, it was great.
The greens were perfect and the weather was awesome.
I would recommend the west side for an easy day, not many hills and shorter pars.

Course in poor condition

To be fair the course is under new management because the county is searching for ways to collect more revenue. The new management company is clearly trying to make changes to the overall facility but to the demise of the course. Unfortunately it appears the course conditions seems to be lower in priority than, getting matching tee shirts for proshop staff, printing new score cards, building aesthetics fences around the adjoining restaurant, etc... My buddies and I historically try to play between 20-30 rounds here a year. We all agreed that it is definitely not worth playing, even for free until they give more attention to the course.

Fun, but slow

Pretty parklike course with lots of tall pines lining most holes.
Easy to find stray shots, though lots of players in carts criss-crossing holes looking for errant shots is very distracting.
Fairways ok (recently aerated)but plenty of brown patches.
Greens ok but far from excellent condition. Bunker sand ok, not too many...mostly around the greens.
Slow front nine, back was faster...I guess there are lots of 9-holers.
Fun overall, but I wouldn't rush back...good deal with 'Hot Deal' pricing if you have time and just want to get out to swing.

Awesome layout for an old course. Drivable par 4's really make you think before you choose your stick. Can't wait to play it again now that I know more.

Old course,well maintained

Haven't played Glendoveer for many years. The course was in very good shape, pace of play was good. The staff were friendly, and helpful. We had a very good experience on an old well maintained course, and will definitely return ; especially at the very reasonable price we got on Golf Now !

I enjoyed playing the course and its condition. It is a good workout if you walk it too.

If you enjoy a mature tree lined golf course, then Glendoveer East is for you. It is well maintained and the pace of play is pretty good for a muny. Pretty good value for the money I'd say.

The staff was very warm and friendly. They also recognized the slow pace of play and worked to speed it up. I would go back to this course in a second

This course has some pros and cons. The course itself is mediocure but it has some really challenging holes. The course lay out is above average in my opinion and the greens were fairly true. I really liked this coures overall. I had 3 birdies which made the day a success.

Great municipal course...

Nice course with some fun challenges. There are some hills to negotiate but as they say "what does up, must come down" so things even out.

Cleaned Up!

I used to play Glendoveer several times a week. Since the new management company has taken over, there have been several changes for the better. I would have had a hard time paying full price to play either East or West sides. Things are looking up, however. As for the West Side, it is being worked on and is slowly improving. The fairways look nice and with the heat, they are rolling well. The greens are running pretty fast on the front nine but on the back nine they are quite a bit slower. West side is very easy. Wide open, for the most part and there aren't too many hazards to contend with besides a few well placed bunkers on a couple holes. For a cheaper rate, the Glendoveer West can be well worth it. Especially for a new player. The East Side is under Aeration on the fairways for the first time I think, ever. I am excited to play it.

Great old course

Great old course with a lot of trees but forgiving fairways. The elevation changes are taxing at times especially for seniors (cart suggested). The spring 70 degree weather with sunshine made for a perfect day.
