Fun test
This was the second time for me to play here this winter. The course was dryer this time, but still very soft. The course is under new management and appear to be making plans for improvement. The course is an unusual par 73, 36-37. There is only one par three on the back nine. There are a couple of short par fours, this played from the right tees are a fun risk reward challenge. I anxious to play here this summer and play under dry conditions.
If this is new management
Driving range is basically shut down except for the ball machine and the mats. There are no teachers, no clubs to demo, nothing. The new management has completely closed down the "people" part of the range. If you need anything, a golf glove, any help, you have to hoof it back up to the pro shop. It's totally ridiculous.
Now it may just be winter, but the greens and fairways are horrible. The worst I have seen them. It appears there is no course maintenance staff working on the weekend, not one. I'm guessing this is a glimpse into the future with our beloved Metro running this course. I used to play here a lot over the past 40 years. I won't be back
You got me GOLF NOW! Hopefully for the last time...
Had a great day, winter golf in OR isn't easy but the course was in OK shape as it hadn't rained in a few days, sun was out, what more can you ask for. That's not why i'm writing this review. This review is to hopefully point out that I paid an extra $6 to register my tee time at GOLF NOW and recieved no discount on the green fees. Its my fault, i should've called the course first. Its $25 to call in a tee time, its $25 + $6 to do it via GOLF NOW...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad I made the drive! (pun intended)
I had a really good time on this course. The variety of holes, green sizes, dog legs, distances, and pin locations made it very fun. I had never been to the course before, but they have two 18 hole courses. I played the East side, and really enjoyed it. The staff was great, and even had a beverage cart come by reasonably often. The course was in good shape, and the greens are not fast or slow, but instead are right in the middle. Great for all skill levels. I definately will be going back.
East course is great in summer....
but in the winter, both courses play very soft with plugging balls, etc. East course is more fun and challenging....staff, especially the starters, are often downright rude. Glendoveer discriminates against single players by not accepting tee times for them on golfnow, so I can't recommend it.
This course is a great value. They would do well however to restrict power cart access when conditions are very wet .
I really appreciated the helpfulness of the GolfNow staff in booking the reservation. I inadvertently booked the wrong day and was helped to get a refund for the mistake and get the day, time, and course I wanted.
Delightful alternative
Beautiful old trees, wide fairways and gentle progression of challenge from 1st to 18th. Fun to play with my wife.
Course has so many tall and big trees, got to keep the ball on fairways.
Greens are relatively large but are guarded by bunkers, and putting are not easy.
east side is a beast
some of the greens are dirty due to all the pine needles from trees. Other than that a very good course.
Enjoyed this course
Course in nice shape for time of year. Would play this course again
Very stunning tree lined fairways
Our group had a great time, well worth the money and fun to play from the forward tees
Stay off the West side...East is better.
Course is in terrible condition, they hand water....can't keep up with lack of rain and amount of play! Golf cart was dirty...still had prior users garbage in it.
One of my favorites
Glendoveer is a great course. There are two courses to choose from, the staff is very friendly.
Affordable and reasonablly easy
Old, traditional muni...West course short and easy...East course treed/ hilly and more difficult..Both courses receive heavy play...greens good for amount of play...good diversity of holes on East course...clubhouse facilities/carts need updating.
