Eagle Crest Resort - Resort Course
About
Eagle Crest Resort boasts two different championship courses. Sprawling across more than 1,700 acres in Central Oregon, the golf courses get over 300 days of sunshine every year. With the Resort Course, it is almost as though you are playing two courses in one. The front nine gives golfers the opportunity to use their driver while the back nine requires pinpoint accuracy with the first five holes featuring out of bounds on both left and right. The signature hole is the par-5 second. This dramatic dogleg right hole tees off eight stories above the canyon floor. If you are confident in your driver, going to the right will put you in a position to go for the green in two but it is definitely risky with the narrow fairway protected by the canyon walls.

Nice track
Great course conditions, greens are starting to speed up after punching, but still pretty slow until the 1st or 2nd week of June.
Nice layout, great fairways
Average
Have played EC for many years, and not quite what i remember.
Pro shop and staff always friendly, but did not enforce mask mandate in pro shop. 2 other players checked in w/out masks, talking and walking around.
This time of year they send players off #1 and #10, but could not figure out the traffic among tee times. Played front in 90 min, then got stuck behind a four-some on the turn.
LOTS of rocks/pebbles in sand traps. Course itself has a few really solid/fun holes, but mostly straight/tight.
Just way too much money for the product you get. MUCH better courses in central OR for your money.
A fun but weird course
This course is fun and worth a round but it has to be the most random design ever. All the holes are completely different, like you can have a fairway 150 yards wide on one hole and have a fairway 50 yards wide and trees in the middle on the next. If you are looking for a course that has a little of everything than play this one. Is it fun? yes. But it is not very casual and isn't super replayable. It is in good condition though.
Canyon Hole #2, Exquisite!!
The Resort course at Eagle Crest Resort, is one of 3 courses available to play at this location. With the beautiful surrounding mountains, in the background of all the holes, this is a treasure to play. The #2 Canyon hole, is a long par 5, dog leg right, through a beautiful canyon!
Staff is extra special nice, and the cost to play is very competitive. Walkable and power carts available. Driving range on site. Also hotel on site, so you can stay and play the other courses!! Enjoy the beauty of Central Oregon!!
Great course and fun to play
It's a great course with a challenge on every hole. They do water the course to much some of the fairways are like a swamp! And they need a person selling drinks on the course everyday of the week. I will play this course again and will bring friends too.
friendly staff
The Golfnow deal was a good one. The staff was friendly and very accomodating.
Eagle Crest Resort
Very friendly staff, and the course was more fun than I remembered.
A great first impression
My wife and I visited here for the fittest time. The staff was courteous and friendly, the course was challenging and beautiful and in great condition.
One More Time Around
Redmond, OR area, played 10/6 at Eagle Crest ( 2 reg., 1 exec. course) Course is in superb shape--weather 70-85* all week.Played poorly, enjoyed greatly. Great bargain via Hot List on Golf Now. Believe this weather not unusual for Eagle Crest in Oct. Course flat after#2-3. Mod # traps.Minimal H2O. OB's possible, but fairways generous. Greens mod. undulating. Could handfeed deer at Pro shop
Always a Great Choice
I have played here many times while visiting Eagle Crest Resort but this was the first time my wife (a beginning golfer) played with me.
The weather was not great but we headed out earlier than our tee time when there was a break in the clouds. We appreciated the staff's willingness to let us go prior to our reserved time.
The course was in great shape and it plays well for a wide variety of abilities. A couple of suggestions:
1. Consider adding an additional set of tees between the whites and the reds. There was a twosome of guys in front of us playing the whites and they should have been on the reds. Perhaps they would have played a set of tees forward if there was something before the reds. (Some guys don't want to play "Ladies Tees.) Golf courses should never call tee boxes by gender - only color! I think the guys ahead of us would have had more fun playing a more forward set and would have gone faster!
2. We would have benefited from a marshal on the course helping these two guys to speed it up.
Other than that, we had a great time and look forward to playing at Eagle Crest again! There are some great views and lots of deer roaming the course.
Nice course at a discount
Course was in pretty good shape. Overall experience was good but would have liked to have more yardage references. Only the blue tees had permanent markers to denote where the distances were measured, so if you are playing whites and the tees aren't in their normal position the yardage will be off. Also none of the sprinklers have yardages so you only have the 100-150-200 spots to go from. I did appreciate the distance to the hazards off the tee on the scorecards.
poor treatment for resort course
Resort course without customer service for the price of golf. No bag drop or help with clubs, pay extra for range balls, no help with clubs at end of round. This would be a fine muni type course if the cost was more reasonable. Good design on starting & ending holes with wide open holes in the middle. enjoyed the pace of play & scenery.
Great experience
Reasonably priced, course was in excellent shape, greens were meticulous and staff was friendly.
Glorious day made up for slow play
What a beautiful course and day. The 2nd hole is as amazing as promised. Elevated tee to a tricky canyon. Long rough. If you hit into it say farewell to your ball. Tricky greens. Want another chance at a few.
Very friendly staff. Course Marshall could have helped a bit more with the very slow 3some in front of us. They didn't let us through until the last par 3. We were in our car and leaving before they finished 18.
No cart service which seemed odd for a warm holiday weekend. Pretty parched by the end.
Afternoon Play
We played in the afternoon. The wind was a bit of a factor but not bad. On the back nine we had the course to ourselves, no one either in front or in back of us. The greens were slower than some of the other Central Oregon courses we have played this week, but rolled true.
Excellent course but very slow play
Most enjoyable course and quite challenging. Somewhat spoiled by very slow play.
Not impressed
Normally Eagle Crest always is a good choice. But, the slow play that started on the 2nd hole, turned into a round just under 5 hours. Only after calling in did a marshal talk to the group ahead, but it didn't change anything. The greens were in poor shape and so slow!
Long walk
Long walk due to distance green to next tee, fairways were great, greens very good just about right speed, saw lots of varied wildlife, weather was just right for walking, I like this course, we vacation here every other year.
Very Enjoyable
I wish I could have walked the course but #'s 2 & 3 are down in a canyon and the walk is not for seniors. I enjoyed playing as a single. As I came upon groups they were more than willing to let me play through. the marshall even suggested I play two balls. (That really improves the game)
Great course
Really enjoy this course
Greens had been sanded but was about gone. 2 weeks the place will be perfect
And we used their cart for the last time as tomorrow ALL new golf carts are being delivered
Beautiful backdrops of the mountains with snow.
