Interesting and fun course. Keep it on the fairway.
We enjoyed the course. It was in fine condition with moderately fast greens. The downside would be that there were several holes that had blind shots - couldn't see which way the fairway went and, in one case, couldn't see the green on your approach shot. The other downside would be that once you get off the fairway the desert rough makes it tough to hit a recovery shot.
well maintained
Played at a very comfortable pace. The course played challenging but fair!
High desert fun
This course is so much fun because I still compare it to the OLD Juniper which was (just another course).
Lots of challenging risk/reward holes.
Pull out the big gun on number 12 and have a go for the green.Eagle is not out of the question.
Beautiful course with challenging greens in many ways.
Beautiful course with challenging greens in many ways.
Love the greens..Plenty of challenge and good variety of choice of tees...
Love the course, particularly the greens. The views are excellent. Plenty of challenge and very fun...
Beautiful course in spectacular Setting of Central Oregon.
Good challenging course with spectacular views of the Cascades from Broken Top to Mt. Jefferson
enjoyed it.....a lot-
Beautiful, challenging, pristine, fast and true!! But the pace was pretty bad. Before I went off there were 3 fivesomes in a row making the turn. Starter announced times from PA, in Club House, and the spacing started out well for two holes and then came to a screeching halt, for the next 14 holes, every single shot, every shot!!! What a drag, yes its summer, and at noon, but I had my 62 year old father that hay set foot on a golf course let alone played in 16+ years, and needless, we weren't cruising. Kind of absurd, not to have seen a single Marshall trying to speed things up at all the whole round. Other that that it was great.
Beautiful Course, Too slow for me
Beautiful course, great job maintaining it. The greens roll great, the fairways perfect.
Its a narrow course so hit it straight. If you hit it off the grass its not a forgiving course. You'll be luck to just get it back in the fairway.
This course plays very slow. Tee time was at 11:40 and I finished the round well after 4:00 it played that slow the second time I played here and I thought it could have been a fluke however it happened again and I think I'll hold off going back until the peak season is over.
What a great golf course
Every hole had a unique look/feel to it. Manacured greens, tee boxs & fairways contrasted against the rugged beauty of the natural terrain with the vista of 3 sisiters mountain peaks in the distance. It doesn't get any better!!
Value golf
The course undulates across terrain that offers up great views of the cascade range at times. Back tees face more open looks than the more forward tees, but there is alot of target golf here at Juniper. If you can find the fairway and don't mind target golf this is a great value for that type of game. Not very long, but the challenges exist in finding fairways and getting ball on green.
The greens were quick up hill, fast on flat ground, If you could find it), and lightning downhill. Not all greens read true, but for theist part- in you saw the break, you could make some long ones.
Not very receptive unless coming in on a high trajectory or with some active spin.
All in all again, a good course for the value, but not a course that will make me say, "I have to play there again"..
It's challenging but fair. Condition is good so it's the value
A nice setting, great staff, and perfect weather. All good.
Country club conditions and a great value
As a retired golf professional I have played a lot of courses and Juniper is now at the top of my list. The staff was very welcoming and the facilities are first class. The course was in fantastic shape and the greens were perfect.
desert golf
I played this course about 15 years ago,
but it was not anywhere near the condition it is in today.
we were pleasantly surprised at how very nice shape it was in.
greens were very fast, and pace of play was very good.
the only thing is the price. for a municiple course it was to expensive. it is a shame that the rediculous nature of golf has forced it's way into the municipalities of city courses, for us weekend warriors are the backbone of this great game, and because of greed we are being forced out of the picture.
Excellent character, fast greens!
We got a tremendous rate on Golfnow.com. Juniper's replay rate of $15 made it even better! The greens are still the fastest in Central Oregon, but they aren't horrible-fast as they have been in the past. If you haven't played here before, what are you waiting for?
What you'd expect
This course was basically what you'd expect. Straightforward, not too many gimmick holes. Nice greens.
Well maintained, wonderful greens, but a bit narrow for many golfers.
I thought this was a very good course and enjoyed it, but the threesome in front of us were very slow because they kept having to find their balls due to the narrow fairways. The course needs marshalls to keep up the pace of play, but there was not one in sight for the entire 18 holes.
Won't be back
Pace of play was horrible. Took 3+ hours to get through 9 holes. When we chose to skip a few holes (losing our own money) just to speed things up, people complained. We ended up just leaving after 10 holes, won't bother going back.
A great Challange for all levels of play
Played from the green tees its a 6600 yard play. The course was in great shape the greens were moderately fast probably a 10 on the stent meter. It has dog legs areas where you have to either lay up or go for it. Overall it was very enjoyable.
Challenging course in great shape
Greens are large, fast and tricky as usual. Better be accurate off the tee or bring an old lava rock-resistant rescue club
Got a good deal through Golf Now, but the cart rate was rather steep.
Cours was in good conditions, and the course could be walkable, with the exception of a couple of holes with long distance between green to tee
