I’ve been playing here since I’m 16 years old. Now at 43, I chose to play yesterday as a last minute option and I was terribly surprised at the unplayable condition of the majority of greens especially in the back 9. They should refund me and everyone else who plays there as the greens are unplayable. Colored dirt, patches of grass and sand. They should be ashamed of themselves for charging people for these crappy conditions.

Don’t waste your time. Said the greens were being air rated. All of them were ripped up, majority of the holes had temporary greens.

course stated greens aeration 8/26 & 8/27. However, the fairways were also aerated. should have made that known.

Worst condition of any course I've ever played. Terrible

For a long time, the back nine had a few holes that were in bad condition. They still are, however now all other holes on course are being irrigated, and a number of tee boxes are in bad shape.

Don’t ever play here!.. Pace of play is excruciatingly slow!!!… tee boxes and greens are a joke.. price is not right…. Drive to Jersey!!!!!

In April, South Shore was a hidden gem

But now, its one of the worse courses around

Tee boxes have no grass

Fairways are pitted and unmoved

The greens are unplayable

In fact I played the back nine, and holes 11, 12, 14, and 15 have no grass at all

They're planning to aerated and seed the tee boxes and greens end of August beginning of September. They have a major tournament in October. They need to close the course for 2 weeks...at least...

Its sad ...

Stay away until next year

It really is a shame that this course has taken a severe turn for the worst. Been playing it for 20 years and it is in the worst shape I’ve ever seen. I understand stand that last season some kids ruined some greens, but that was months ago. There’s no excuse that at least 4 tee boxes are just plain dirt, but even some “grass tee boxes” are terrible. I don’t blame the staff, they are definitely trying, but my gripe is how on earth are you charging people 70$ plus another $17 for a cart. For almost $90 ,you can play 1,000x’s nicer courses in New Jersey, and shave an hour off you round. In its current condition, the should be charging $40 with a cart. A bunch of the greens aren’t even playable, and majority of the tee boxes don’t even have any grass. It really is a shame.

Course was backed up. Tee time before 10:30 and didn’t tee off until around 10:50. Finished play in just under five hours with a fast group of three. We were backed up, waiting to tee off on every single hole. The greens of the front nine were fine, but the back nine greens were either aerated or covered in seed. None of the tee boxes were actually grassy. Most were sandy, but a few were muddy. In fact, the course I just played in the desert north of New Mexico had less sandy tee boxes than this course. I would recommend other places, especially for 90+ dollars for a weekend tee time with a cart. Don’t spend 5 hours on this poor course.

Some of the greens were dry and hard to putt. The fairways were well kept. Tee boxes were dry and in need of repairs.

The front 9 is maintained well enough, but the back 9 is in shambles and has been all year. They had a problem with kids tearing up the greens on dirt bikes. I know that's a big problem that is tough to remedy. That would be a good excuse for a month or two. But this is going on since early April. And some of the other greens are a patchwork mess. It's a nice course when properly maintained. I will not waste my money to be frustrated most of the day. I do well enough on my own with my weekend warrior play. I'll wait until next year to see how the repairs have done over the winter.

Stay away from this course. 4 greens on the back 9 are unplayable. Grass has some type of disease and yet they still charge full price and chase you in to bring the carts back at 730. They should be ashamed! Don’t even get me started with the GM. How he still has a job is mind boggling. Give the people a break on the price since you can only putt on 14 of the 18 greens. To me that a 25% discount.

At last three holes on the back nine have greens and fairways that are bad and sort of unplayable it has been this way for quite some time and they still do not offer a discount on what is otherwise an expensive round to begin with for this course

It was VERY disappointing to see the course is such a sad state. Some tee boxes were overgrown, some bunkers did not have sand, in about a half a dozen greens or damaged.

Unfortunately the green gremlins attacked again. Some you cant putt on, all sand.

Will need 2 weeks.

Still a great course to play

Front nine is in very good shape. Tee boxes ok. Back 9 3 greens are gone. With some drying fairways. Tee boxes being worked on. Sand traps on front 9 are good with sand. Back 9 rock hard. Otherwise a good day. Hopefully some summer the back 3 greens will find a solution. Its a shame every summer same place same problem. 12th green should be moved to the left to avoid insect burrows and green death that happens every summer.
