In much better condition this year
They fixed the temporary greens. T boxes are better just overall looks like they’re starting to turn it around.

No need for explanation. Other golfers would probably agree.. ill keep it short.
- staff.. absolutely horrible
- tee times.. over booked and never on time.
Cart paths
Cart paths are just as bad as NYC streets. It’s unreal
Great front nine
Course is in great condition I was a twosome, both walking. We finished the front in about 1:45 mins which was great, including a hot dog on the turn. Teed off on ten no problem then got to 11 and there was a foursome on the green a foursome on the fairway a twosome on the tee, us, and another twosome caught up. After 15 mins we left the course. Something went very wrong but I will be back only on hotdeal rates
Golf course T
The course was in the best shape that I can remember. The greens were nice and the tee boxes also.
Getting Better
Typically the NYC courses are not well maintained and cost more than much nicer courses but new management is definitely making a difference, destroyed greens are repaired, grass is cut, sand in bunkers and greens are nice. Well done NYC courses! The only thing is that I would not play unless it is a hot deal, Bang for your buck Jersey is still a tad above, but if they continue this trend they will keep a lot more golfers on the island.
good playable course w nice layout
south shore is my fav layout on si...it is narrow enough, hilly enough, and bunkered enough...the course is in good shape and the greens were in good shape...
Great shape for once….. But when are all the sand traps going to have real sand? And paving the paths is badly needed!
South Shore Golf Course
Played the back 9 and surprisingly the course was in fairly good condition. The greens on 12 and 14 which were previously damaged and unplayable, have made a remarkable comeback and were open for play.

Four hours twenty minutes teed off at 840 course was in good shape, greens were in great shape.
Terrible maintanance
Come back to this course after four years. I was quite happy with the front 9, but back 9 is terrible. The hole 12, green grass is like the fairway rough. Can't believe it. Some other last holes' tee boxes are seemed to be forgotten, abandoned.
I loved to be back to support the course, but after today - no more!
Great job by New management
South Shore is in great shape, much better than it has been for a long time. Fairway, greens and bunkers in great shape. If only the players could show some respect and fix ball marks and rake the bunkers we may have a nice course to play.
