South Shore Golf Course

Charging full price to play on a course where tee boxes aren’t maintained , and 6 greens were absolutely terrible. I wasted money playing this track. The starter was also a nasty old man who couldn’t even do his job.

Having played here for years, I am aware of the vandalism that took place on greens of # 11 and 12, it really is unfortunate but a plan needs to be implemented to fix those problems. It’s been several seasons now and things seem worse or at best just as bad. This course has potential but those holes really put damper on your round. On good note they seem to be moving tee boxes around to prevent dirt box effect 👍. Crazy electrical storm and biblical rain chased us off after 14 holes 2 of which are a shame🤔

Could be a good course. Slow play, terrible groundskeeping, tee boxes are atrocious. For the price course should be pristine. Hornets all over a couple of greens. Lastly, people who play here don’t help much, ball marks all over the greens… but what else do you expect from Staten islanders

The back nine is in horrible condition, Hornets all over the greens that you can’t finish holes, tee boxes are dirt, and sand traps are like cement! How are you charging these prices when the course is in this condition?

Pretty good overall. A few greens need better care. Overall course is in good shape. One of the better public courses around. We ayed Sunday afternoon at 2pm. Not crowded at all

After years of reading mostly negative reviews, I finally decided to give South Shore a try and I was pleasantly surprised. The general course conditions were acceptable. While some tee boxes were lacking grass and the greens on 12 and 14 were in rough shape, the course overall was very playable. For the price, I really have no complaints. I’ll probably make the 40-minute drive again to play it another time this season.

Playing earlier this summer I noticed a pleasant improvement in the course. Fast forward a few weeks the back 9 has its same old deplorable conditions. Water issues , wasp infestation and unplayable greens. The new owners have obviously made efforts to upgrade and maintain the course Hopefully this can get these issues , mostly on the back 9 , corrected.

Over course was Ok. It was very slow, and we had to skip a hole to speed things up

Very upset, got there for 10:42am tee time we didnt start till 11:15 and didnt finish till 4:30 waited on every single hole. Greens were destroyed and the starte didnt move pace at all

I’ve gone to this course off and on over the past five years. I keep hoping that they will do something about the wasp infestation. Two holes it’s impossible to put because they are swarming the bunkers. Another two holes have similar conditions. If management reads this post, please figure something out.
