The wet weather has taken its toll
On loch nairn and for whatever reason the owners were unable or unwilling to keep pace or spend the money to fix things. Fairways are dry and baked in many areas. Be prepared to roll it over on most shots. Greens are decent and the design can be confusing by there are some nice par 3s.
Nice course
Loch Nairn is a good public course. It get a lot of play but they do a greet job of keeping it groomed. There are always areas that are wet because of natural springs an that is exacerbated by the heavy rains we have had.. Sand traps are in general nee of attention. This has some nice features an is always a fun day.
Beat up
Multiple fair ways are just torn apart. Looks like they brought trucks through and just ripped them up . 3 sand traps were filled with water. But the actual water on the course? Standing, stagnant water that literally stinks. It’s a shame because I think the design of the course is cool and it has serious potential, but the fact that the fairways on the first 3 holes, 2 when you cross the street, and at least another 1 or 2 have ropes around them due to tire marks and other crap, it really takes away from the course. Go to innescrone instead.
Poorly marked
We missed holes 8 and 9 due to poor marking. Our first time playing here and it was really frustrating finding some of the holes. Not sure if I will play there again.
Not a 55 dollar course. Fairways and tee boxes were in awful condition. Only got 10 holes in due to rain. Ive played courses in better condition for half the price. Not a horrible place to play but was definitely disappointed in course conditions for the money they make you pay to play it. The price and conditions is what will keep me from going back.
Perfect day.
The weather could not have been better. Perfect.
pace of play was fine. Even after all the rain we had the course was in really good shape. Greens were good too.
Ranger?????
Round was good but.....between the 3rd and 4th hole the ranger was there and asked to make sure we keep up with pace. At this moment we where 5-10minutes ahead of pace. The ranger proceeded to stalk our group from the 4th hole till the 10th hole. This was very unnecessary considering we finshined more then 15 minutes ahead of pace. I would give more of a opinion on why the ranger decided to stalk our group considering what group of players where playing behind behind us and what the ranger had in common with them. Also note, the group behind us was held up maybe for a minute or two a couple of times, never did seem them held up on the back 9. The ranger needs to be more professional and not stalk groups ahead of pace.
A Gem
I have been playing this course for over 50 years, and it is still enjoyable. The course was in good condition, the greens a little slow, but running true. We enjoyed a beer on the patio after the round. The food is very good there, especially the crab cakes.
Loch Narin
Nice course a little wet in some spots but a fun track with some interesting holes. Golf staff super friendly. Nice bar and restaurant. Bar tender a bit slow and she appears somewhat disinterested. But the food is good and overall a great day of golf.
The LOCH NAIRN
Rich, in the pro shop, is as enthusiastic as I've seen . Glad to see someone who likes his job that much.
I would like to play it again. I went there because it had been on my radar for a while AND it was a HOT DEAL.. I'm glad that I went.

Expected better
Wasn’t the best of outings. Waited 50min past our tee time for carts because apparently their cart delivery guy failed to drop off their extras. Tee boxes needed work. Grass looks liked it hadn’t been fertilized yet and bunkers were impossible to shoot from (lots had standing water in it still, mind you it hadn’t rained in about 5 days either. The back 9 was in terrible shape. A lot of damp areas in which your ball would sink right into the ground and a par 3 in which the only dry grass around it was the green itself. After seeing all of the good reviews, I’ve been trying to play here, but this wasn’t a good first time. The holes are basically right on top of one another. I might try it another time but if it’s like this again, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
A Sweet Little Course
I have been playing this course for over 50 years. It is a nice layout and fun to play. Course conditions vary from time to time. Today it was in pretty good shape, with fast, but bumpy greens. They have some of the best food you ever find at a golf course. Go for the crab cakes.
No reservation
When I got to the course they didn’t have my tee time. It was for someone else! Luckily they didn’t show or I would have been bumped. But GolfNow still charged me 5 bucks!
A real shot makers course
I love this course. It is beautifully planned out. All shots are fair but you do have to keep it fairly straight. Awesome course, and in great condition for March.
