Good average course
Most of the greens where in good shape and average speed. The rough was recently mowed and not to bad to get out of. Lots of trees blooming
Course is in great shape
Pace of play was slow, but it was Sunday afternoon and the weather was beautiful.
Very Crowded Course
Everything about the course was fine, except the rate of play, due to the number of golfers on the course. It was in great shape considering the amount of play it received and the lack of rain.
First time this year
Had a great day of golf with my son-in-law. We stayed for dinner and the food was exceptionally good!
Greens & staff.
I was pleased with the greens this early in the season. The staff member I checked in with was very friendly and helpful.
Fastn slow
Very good course finally played 18. Was a very windy day can't wait too play in summer when course is done and nice out.
Tee times don't help.
We made a tee time. The starter and the pro shop don't speak to each other. They do not honor your tee time. They add other players who just show up and back everyone who made a tee time. No ranger to speed up slow play. Many other courses around the local area that treat you better.
Great layout for every golfer.
I really enjoyed my time a Range End. The course is in good condition and the staff was great. The only reason I gave them 3 stars on food and beverage is because it's the off season. Noonan's Tavern doesn't open until 4 pm in the winter months. I can't blame the owner for keeping it closed when the business isn't there. I'm sure the food is great though. I highly recommend golfing here.
Rane End
Great time with friends, nice course. Water hazards not a real issue.
For this time of year !
Course was in great condition for November ! Pace of play was acceptable . Price was right !
Underrated
Course is in good condition. Fair course that is player friendly and challenging. This course does not get the credit it should.
Course was in great condition!
Played Range End on a beautiful fall afternoon. Course was in great shape, greens very very nice!
Found a great deal on GolfNow that was too good to pass up!
Great job Range End, hope to be back next week.
Well established
This was my first time at this course. The day was windy which made many holes play longer than normal. The course is in a great setting and has much elevation changes. The greens had aerification but still rolled fairly true. Knowledge of course will help fore there are some water and ditch hazards. Overall a good day.
Nice course for all levels of golfers
My wife and I had a beautiful day of golf. The course was in very good condition. Some beautiful holes .
Greens were in good condition. Only issue was slow play, because course was full.
Good bang for your buck
Pretty nice little course. Despite it being August the greens, fairways and tee boxes were in pretty good shape. Its a little thing, but all of the tee boxes were flat which is nice for this area, not always the case. I would avoid this course if you are allergic to bees. When I played there were lots of bees around some of the greens, bunkers and in the flowers decorating the course.
Very playable course
Range End is a classic parkland design. No two holes are the same. Each hole presents itself in front of you without blind tee shots or second shots. Its present condition is not lush nor is it bare and sparse. The rough is cut short meaning you can't get into much trouble and won't lose lots of golf balls. The greens are in very good condition and are sneaky fast.
Compared to other courses in the area, Range End is nicer than most and usually in good condition and worth playing....especially at a GOLFNOW rate under $30.
Worth Checking Out
The course is in really good condition right now. Nothing tricky or fancy about this course but a nice course to work on your game. You cannot beat the value!
Combat Golf
The course was crowded this Sunday afternoon. More balls bounced near us, hit trees near us, or bounced into our fairway from adjacent fairways than I have experienced in the last two years. Must be due to the way the fairways run side by side with play going in opposite directions.
Tee locations go a long way toward equalizing the course. My drives from the gold tees frequently equaled the drives of the two young, long drivers paired with us who played from the blues. That's a plus.
Greens are small, fast, hard, and sloped. Many approach shots wound up off the green, even if they came in almost vertically. Green-side bunkers are generally well raked; they reward a well-executed sand shot.
It's a thinking man's course. It's possible to avoid the "big mistake" on most holes, even for a high handicapper playing the course for the first time.
Enjoyed seeing bass in the big water hazard and the white or albino squirrel we saw next to one of the greens on the back nine. The back nine is more scenic, less cramped, and more fun to play than the front nine.
