Boone Golf Club
About
Boone Golf Club is one of the area's most popular public courses. It was designed by Ellis Maples, the architect of many of the South's finest courses. Utilizing the dramatic Hill Country landscape, the course is as scenic as it is challenging. From the elevated tees you'll get a view of the surrounding mountains and the winding streams that meander through the golf course. The wide fairways are bordered by colorful wildflowers and the greens have subtle but tricky undulations. The par-5 sixth is one of the most memorable holes on the course. The green is the most challenging element of this hole, not only is it steeply pitched there is also water guarding the front. Boone Golf Club is a challenging but fair layout that golfers of all skill levels enjoy playing.

Love this Course
Boone Golf Club is one of my favorites rounds anywhere. If I lived closer I could play it every weekend. I made it up the mountain for the second time in the last month this summer and came away even more impressed than a few weeks ago. The course was in great shape. Even though it rained pretty substantially the day before the course played great with few wet areas. The greens are some of the best I’ve ever seen. They are smooth and quick. I really enjoyed putting on them. The layout is fun and challenging at times. And the surroundings are beautiful. Just don’t expect a quick round. They pack this place out on the weekends and you should expect anywhere from a 4 to 5 hour round. Depending on how early or late you tee off.
Great course
Great course well maintained greens in great shape fast and large. fairways in great shape first time here and will definitely play this course well worth the money.
Excellent round of golf
Very friendly staff, great layout. Played with another single and a twosome. Had a great time. Course was full but pace of play was good. Interesting layout, very forgiving. Would definitely play again when in the area. Thanks, also very COVID compliant, face coverings and carts cleaned.
Great course!!
The course was in great shape the greens was really fast the weather was amazing. I highly recommend this course!!
Great mountain course
Boone Golf Club is a great place for a round of golf. First, understand that although it is in the mountains it is not really a mountain course except for #10. Most of the course is in a valley and is relatively flat. Second, the course conditions are really good. I did think the fairways could stand to be cut, they werent real tight, but they were full, and the course was green from wall to wall. The tee boxes were in good shape. I played 36 holes (the replay rate was only $18 so if you have time and can get a morning tee time its worth it!) and the first round I thought the greens were a perfect speed and firmness. However, it was a sunny warm day, and the wind blew some and on the second round the greens really firmed up and sped up and it was tough to hold a shot. This is not really the fault of the course just the way it was. There is generally a pretty good amount of space to hit your ball, but the greens and the areas around the greens are a challenge. Hole 1 is a medium length slight dogleg right par 4 from an elevated tee. There is a small creek that fronts the green. The 2nd hole is a longer dogleg right par 4. The 3rd is a relatively tough par 3. Its around 180 yards and there is a forced marsh carry. The 4th hole is a medium length dogleg right, with plenty of room to drive the ball. The 5th is a medium length dogleg left, again, a good drive leaves a pretty short approach. 6 is where things get tough. Its a long, slightly uphill, dogleg right par 5. There is a pretty big pond that is in front of the green starting about 100 yards out. It takes 2 really good shots to get to that point. I cant imagine being able to carry the pond in 2 but some better players probably can. The green on 6 is also really tough. It slopes severely from back to front. DO NOT GO PAST THE PIN! 7 is another tough hole, a longer dogleg left with a creek and trees on the left that seem to draw golf balls to them. The 8th is longer par 3 at about 180 yards. But not much trouble other than a bunker. 9 is a short uphill par 4. The green is not deep at all, but very, very wide. 10 is a fun hole. Its a long par 5. From the back tee you have about a 10 yard chute through the trees. The fairway slopes severely to the left. Shots that hit the middle of the fairway end up in the left rough. Its a roller coster hole with a fairway that also goes up and down and back up to the hole. At no point on this hole can you go left. If you do you are done. 11 is a medium length par 3, with a big green and a false front. 12 is a shorter dogleg left with a big 2 tiered green. 13 is a medium length par 4 with an approach that plays slightly down hill. 14 is another medium length par 4 with.a really wide fairway. 15 is a short par 4 that requires something other than driver off the tee with a creek that fronts the green. 16 is a medium length par 3 with another marsh forced carry. 17 is an uphill par 5. There is alot of room in the fairway, but you can't miss the green. 18 is a nice finishing hole. Its a long par 4 that plays slightly downhill off the tee, then back uphill to the green with a pond on the left of the green. All in all its.a really nice course, and fun to play. Be warned, on weekends they double tee and pack it out. My 1st round tee time was 856 and we finished in about 4 hours and 10 min. My second tee time was 204 and it was after 7 before we finished. So expect a long round, especially with an afternoon tee time. But enjoy yourself and a break from the summer heat.
A-1 golf facility
The golf course is A-1, layout, greens fairways. We’re great. This was a very crowded Sunday going off the front and back tees, although it was slow for my pace we finished in less than 4.5 hrs. Very good considering the crowd. 15* cooler than the piedmont. Don’t miss this real gem.
Great Course
Only my second time playing here but it was as good as I remembered. Course was in fantastic condition and the staff is great. Highly recommend.
An Excellent Choice
This is a really nice course in great shape. It rained hard yesterday, but there were no issues with standing water or wet areas. It's a very challenging course with lots of elevated greens and tee boxes, but it is well worth the time! I will definitely come back.
Best and worst
Course conditions were very good however the rough was difficult to hit out of as the grass is very thick. Had one of the worst rounds of my life ( my fault) but I did have a HOLE IN ONE!!
Great Course
Had a great time playing this course. Had 9 of us total in our group that played the course. Everyone loved it so much we played another 9 after finishing up. Staff was very friendly. Conditions great. Views and scenery were top notch
Beautiful course
It was my first time playing here. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Course was in great condition & the greens are huge. I cannot wait to get back & play again.
Great Course!
Got a great deal on GolfNow and my son and I played 18 holes in 3 hours! Course is in great shape and pace of play was outstanding. Definitely recommend Boone Golf Course to anyone in the area, especially if you can get a good deal. Regular rates are a little high, but course is worth it.
