Gilbertsville Golf Club is a public, 27-hole layout in New Hanover Township. The holes are divided into three different nines called the Red, White, and Blue. The nines sprawl across the rolling hills of Montgomery County, which is most apparent on the most challenging of the three, the Blue Course. The Red and White, the club's original 18 holes, have a more traditional layout while the Blue Nine, which was added 30 years later, is more modern with rolling fairways and large, undulating greens. Surprisingly the Blue is the shortest of the three golf courses but it feels longer due to the constant up-and-down. Golfers will encounter a number of tricky lies on this nine and there is also water coming into play on nearly every hole.

Made a few craters on the greens and happily used the repair tool. Unfortunately choked on my few birdie putts. Photo submitted by u000007953538 on 11/18/2013

I cart path only
When we arrived we saw the sign saying cart path only. We were informed it rain the night before even though 20 miles away where we live we didn't have any rain I accept that nothing you can do about it however when we get out on the course and we played the red and blue the courses were not wet whole number 7 on the red had some water along the cart path but the blue course in particular was not wet. I did complain to the gentlemen taking tee times when I turn the car again and he was sympathetic and understanding but he doesn't make the rules. I believe it because it was a cold windy day and they had only maybe 12 to 15 players out on the course they shut it down for that reason. I'm sympathetic to Course Maintenance and keeping the course nice but it turned our round of golf into a mess. The other golfers on the course by the way were taking their carts into the fairways so for that reason I don't think we'll be back
Wet and soggy.
The course was in excellent shape even though it was very wet. Had an awesome time.
Fun course.
Friendly staff. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Excellent pace of play for a Friday afternoon finished in less than 4 hours.
Visit to an old friend
Have not played here for 20 years, course has aged very well. Friendly staff, nice conditions, greens very nice .
Slow pace, overbooked
I played the white-red course. Overall the course was in good shape. However the greens were just aerated, so I thought the price should have been reduced a little. Worst part was how crowded it was, at every tee box we had to wait for the group ahead of us, who was waiting to tee off because the group ahead of them was waiting for the group ahead of them to get off the green. And this happened on almost every hole. I can't blame slow players for this mess, it was just overbooked.
Limited to White Course
It is difficult to rate a course when we were told to only play the white due to an event on the other two. Would have been great to know before we got there. Well, the starter was great and allowed us to play 5 holes on the red loop after the event cleared out at 5:20pm.
So, this course has some interesting holes that were challenging primarily due to effective layout and some cross fairway hazards. Pretty course right now but greens had just been aerated and sand topped so greens will improve.
Some tough par threes and several simple par fours. Overall, challenging from blue tees.
We had fun in the end and will go back. Thanks to the starter for helping out.
Aerating the Red Course
I was delayed and called to see if there would be a problem. I was told no problem. I played the Red and didn't 3 putt once. Went over to the Blue finished the round in about 3 1/2 Hrs. Course was in great shape. The young lady at the turn was friendly so was the starter. I shot a 90 which is good for me.
blue to white
played blue to white, like the track. rains made the sand tuff, will definitely play there again
Worth the drive
A little out of our way but a fun afternoon of golf. Easy to navigate and a fun layout. Nothing fancy about this place, clean, well kept , old time clubhouse. This place would be great to have a small family reunion for golf with the outside decks. I would highly recommend.
Always a treat
Gville is my go to course in this area. Always friendly, excellent course conditions and great value.
GOOD, BUT SLOW PLAY
Decent course. Three 9-hole courses. Play was very slow.
Good value, high fun quotient
First time on this course - they have 3 nines and we played the Red and White. This is a nice, low stress course that is very playable for the average golfer. Not too much trouble, but enough variety to keep up the interest. It was in nice shape. They included a hot dog and soda in the price. I think it's family-owned and low key, which is how I like it. I will come back!
Good value
Good course with little trees, straight forward course, plays easier if you know the course, greens are easy and not much undulations.
