Gilbertsville Golf Club is a public, 27-hole layout in New Hanover Township. The holes are divided into three different nines called the Red, White, and Blue. The nines sprawl across the rolling hills of Montgomery County, which is most apparent on the most challenging of the three, the Blue Course. The Red and White, the club's original 18 holes, have a more traditional layout while the Blue Nine, which was added 30 years later, is more modern with rolling fairways and large, undulating greens. Surprisingly the Blue is the shortest of the three golf courses but it feels longer due to the constant up-and-down. Golfers will encounter a number of tricky lies on this nine and there is also water coming into play on nearly every hole.

Made a few craters on the greens and happily used the repair tool. Unfortunately choked on my few birdie putts. Photo submitted by u000007953538 on 11/18/2013

Pretty darn good for winter golf
70 degrees in February in eastern Pennsylvania doesn't happen too often. To find a course in eastern Pennsylvania in February in good shape also doesn't happen often. But gilbertsville won the prize today. Great weather and good conditions. Sure the graas was a little brown and course was damp but overall conditions were better than expected. We played red to blue courses and the white tees. All tee positions seem to be moved up for winter conditions. So it did make the course even easier to play. This is an easy course with not many surprises so it's a good starter course for coming back after the winter layoff. If it was a little closer I'd play it more frequently but we got a good deal on golf now which made it that much more appealing and worth the drive.
Good time in Feb.
Seemed like they over booked course. Probably weren't ready for 69 degrees in February. Staff was a little bogged by this but really helpful with directions (First time at course). Pace of play was affected but not as bad as it looked when we started. Overall course in pretty good shape and the greens ran consistently. Playing golf in Feb., who can complain.
nice course, friendly staff
The course is always in good shape, is fairly open and forgiving. Pace of play is always good because the very friendly staff spaces out the tee times on the three 9s.
value
I think Gilbertsville is the best value for the money in the area. It is always in good shape. The course is fairly straight forward and is wide open so it plays well for a "weekender" like me. With 3 nines it has nice variety.
Nice course
I played with my brothers. It was a nice course for us to play, none of us are very good. The fairways are wide and mostly open. The conditions were very good for this time of year. The greens were forgiving and it good shape. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because it was more or less out of season, they weren't busy and the snack bar/restaurant wasn't well stocked, but they had some food choices.
I believe we'll go back again. My brothers like the ease of play and it wasn't too far from home. I'd recommend playing this course, especially if you're looking to enjoy the game and not get frustrated by lost shots.
Friendly staff
Course lay out provides for three nine hole courses. The staff on the day I played utilized this layout to insure a good pace of play.
Great golf for the $
Friendly fairways, forgiving staff.....
or is it the other way around!?!
excellent condition
Excellent course layout. Greens were in great condition. Fairways were properly cut nice playable roughs. Playable pin locations. Very well kept course.
Red to Blue 18
The course was in excellent shape for the time of year (mid-Oct) which made it a great experience!
Hidden gem
Excellent value, surpasses expectations in every way. Just enough challenges and forgiveness to enjoy the day.
A Gilbertsville GEM!
Played the White and Blue courses. Just discovered this course this year. This course is well manicured and lots of variety in the holes. Love the greens quality and overall look of how the fairways are mowed / groomed .
On this day though we couldn't finish because of painfully slow high school golf matches going on on the blue course. Other than that I would play here again and again.
Better than I remember
I was pleasently surprised how nice the course was. I played the Red and Blue layout. The Red was basic, flat, but had a nice mixture of short and long holes. The Blue had more elevation and the routing was much better. Both layouts were fun to play.
HI "hzg005" Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We are so glad you enjoyed the red and blue layouts. Please come back and give the white layout a try before the golfing season is over!
Great Value!!
I played the Red to Blue course. I like the Blue side a lot better than the Red. Greens needed help with the ball marks. I must have fixed at least 3 ball marks on each green. You could tell that this must be the norm because the greens showed that. I would play again.

Good course for the price
It's worth playing for 40 bucks or less

Fun Course
Great, inexpensive fun course. Not for a scratch golfer but fun for anyone. Course was in very good condition.
Hi Joe7370737,
Thank you for your choosing Gilbertsville! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the conditions of the course. We hope to see you again soon!
Great bang for the buck
My g/f and I played here on a hot and humid weekend. Other than being hot and sweaty, the day was well spent. The staff here are outstanding and as friendly as anyone could ever be. The course layout is mediocre but the conditions were outstanding. The course could use a few adjustments to toughen it up a bit. Most holes are just a driver / hybrid to a straight fairway. Could use more bunkers or put creek into play.
Definitely would play here again. Beer and food prices are more than reasonable as well

This course was a pleasant surprise.
This is a well maintained public course. It is challenging enough for the average player. Employees were helpful and friendly.
Thank you for your review! It's great to hear that you had a good customer service experience, as well as enjoyed the conditions of the course. We look forward to having you back!
Bad organization of tee times
over booked tee times
they explained (no apology) later with bad attitude.
Hi Yasumimiark,
We are disappointed to hear that you did not have a good experience. Please email us at GilbertsvilleTeeTimes@aol.com to further discuss your round. We hope to hear from you soon.
Great Value
The course layout was mostly interesting, with a few somewhat boring holes. The condition of the course was great. The greens were fast and tough, but if you can read them, they're fun to putt on. The course wasn't very long.
Hi Psufan131,

Hi "u837202708" We apologize about the slow play on this particular day. With the 3 courses we try our best to rotate them so that pace of play is always great. Please come back and give our red layout a try before the golfing season is over.
