Linfield National Golf Club
About
Linfield National Golf Club is a public course that is one of the area's best values. Formerly known as Sycamore Ridge, the course changed ownership in addition to its name. Since those two major changes, the course boasts better conditions and a renovated clubhouse. The layout has a classic links design that incorporates traditional elements including water, trees, and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The up-and-down of the golf course is one of the most challenging elements of the layout. The course is tight with a few adjacent fairways but this configuration also allows for a bit of extra room for recovery shots. Some of the holes at Linfield National Golf Club are quite narrow but it is still possible to hit the green in regulation. Though the course is only 6,164 yards, the rolling terrain will make it seem much longer.

Getting in our last round of the year
Enjoyed this course very much. My son and I have played nearly 20 different courses this year and we put Linfield in our top 4. Tees, fairways and greens in good shape. Will definitely return.
improved course
Last time I played this course it was in horrible condition. However this round was played in 3.5 hours and on a well maintained course.
Good time
Friendly staff, good, fun course , with fast greens well done.
better everytime I play here
Over the last 2 years the course has dramatically improved. Tees, fairways and greens were in very good condition. newer carts and a GPS this time. Definitely go back again.
Best value in the area
Probably the best course conditions I've played all season. May be due to the rain a couple days ago and the warm weather this week but everything about the course was very good... The par 3's are short and at the most require 7i. Greens were soft but fast. Fairways were great. Pace was good enough and played just under 4 hours. Nice clubhouse and bar. For $42 normal rate (I a deal and played for just $18) including a cart it is by far the best deal in the area.
Nice value
Played 18 in under 3 hrs so great pace of play and value , challenging course when empty as you can lose drives on other tee boxes if crowded!
Good Course - Love the Greens
I always liked Linfield. I played there when the leaves were falling and it was windy.
The course is in very good condition and I really love the greens. My chipping and putting (27) were excellent partly due to the greens running true.
great day of golf @Linfield
last 2 yrs w/new ownership, they are doing a stellar job, course is in great shape, grass on all tees, greens are very nice condition, sand traps could use some TLC, but fairways and rough in fine shape. Great value at golf now. I'll be back soon.
Overall good, challenging course.
Overall this course was fun, challenging, and in great shape. The course seemed to play shorter from the blue tees than what the scorecard read. GPS in carts, but distances were off. The only qualm we had was the pace of play. We were playing as a two-some and had a two-some in front of us and two two-somes behind us. The group in front was agonizingly slow, and off course this led to us getting pushed. Tried to joining but other groups weren't having it. There was no starter and no ranger at all. Style of the course wasn't what I was expecting for the area, both good and bad.
Fun Course!
Very nice course with several challenging holes. Ball washers on every hole and cart paths in good shape. Good layout with vista views. Worth the drive to play.
1st time playing the course
Would give it 3 and 1/2 if it was an option. really surprised by the course, some nice looking holes. Fairways were in ok conditions, same as the greens. The best things about it was the value - $47 for Friday primetime was a good deal in my opinion.
Close routing of the holes, and a lot of doglegs - not too long of a course.
GPS on the carts was nice.
Great course and value
Played here for $25/person on Sunday 1:30pm tee time. The tee box, fairways, and greens were all good, pace of play was good (4 hours w/ 30min beer break), and the staff were very friendly. The bartender lady was awesome. This course does offer GPS on all carts, but ours was not working well. It kept shutting down, so it kind of ruined the experience a little hence the 4/5 overall stars. Would definitely play here again.
Great Course for the price
Got a tee time on Golf Now for Sunday morning. I'm from DELCO and if this course were there, it would be $75 easy. Fairways were nice, greens were very nice and the place was beautiful. I'm definitely going back.
PS, the negative reviews must be from the prior owners.
Coach and course in general
I have played Linfeild National about 20 times in 2014 and I look forward to every tee time. I live in South Philly but we drive to Linfiled weekly because of the excellent course conditions and the friendly staff. Coach and Mr Matt are great guys in the clubhouse and they always greet myself and others with a smile!
This is my favorite course in the Philadelphia area.
had some difficult doglegs.
I enjoyed the course very much. I'm your avg. weekend player high 80s - low 90s so I found the course pretty challenging. Since it was my first time on the course it made it a little more difficult. I'm looking forward to playing it again.
Great Value
A friend and I played this course on a Golfnow deal that totaled $49 total (combined) with cart that had an excellent GPS system. Terrific layout, diverse selection of holes, conditions were very good tee to green considering its the end of summer. Grounds staff were very courteous and helpful. Nice pre-round putting area including practice bunker. The Philadelphia city courses are terrible in comparison at almost the same price. Will definitely play here again.
go another place
this place needs a lot of work the tee's are covered in crab grass, if there are 50 sands traps on the course there are only two with sand the rest are mud traps while they appear to be reseeding the fair ways they are in poor shape compared to other courses in the area. it is a shame because when we played there early this year the place was much better. if you play golf in the fall might be better to go elsewhere we will!!!!
Disappointed on multiple accounts
The course was in decent shape for this time of year, however members of the grounds crew was too busy to stop their mowing and rolling and ran over one ball then berated us for hitting second shots while they were still on the fairway. They showed no common courtesy including profane language.
Second disappointment was the lack of response from the management team after an email of the incident was sent to the owner directly and as of 5 days still have not heard a response.
Sadly a good round of golf was ruined not by poor play or conditions, but by an incredibly rude staff.
Book me again
Great conditions on the course. Staff was friendly.
Played in less than 3.5 hours on a Friday morning. Will go back again.
Great course!
This is a terrific value for the money! It is very well maintained and most days you can move at your own pace because it's never overbooked. The fairways are very close to each other on certain holes but overall there are so many positives, it outweighs the one negative.
