Linfield National Golf Club
About
Linfield National Golf Club is a public course that is one of the area's best values. Formerly known as Sycamore Ridge, the course changed ownership in addition to its name. Since those two major changes, the course boasts better conditions and a renovated clubhouse. The layout has a classic links design that incorporates traditional elements including water, trees, and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The up-and-down of the golf course is one of the most challenging elements of the layout. The course is tight with a few adjacent fairways but this configuration also allows for a bit of extra room for recovery shots. Some of the holes at Linfield National Golf Club are quite narrow but it is still possible to hit the green in regulation. Though the course is only 6,164 yards, the rolling terrain will make it seem much longer.

Course needs some work
I was excited to play this course after reading the reviews. When i arrived, the clubhouse was very nice with a decent size bar and friendly staff. When we got into our car to play my mindset completely changed.
Tee boxes in poor conditions. most if not all fairways were dead/burnt, some were rocky. bunkers were unraked, most with water. greens were decent but no one fixed previous ball marks, looked like someone was wearing metal spikes.
Course was very crowded and the holes seemed to tight, carts all over your hole and what not, one guy drove right up to the green while we were putting and interrupted us.
All in all i probably wouldn't play linfield again unless i got a really good deal.
Great course for all levels of play.
Course was in good condition. Lots of rain days prior but the course as in better shape than predicted. Interesting course withour a lot of bends. If you know where to hit it some holes are drivable. Staff was great, asked if it was our first time, (it was) showed us around and made us feel welcome.
Challenging but lots of fun
Before playing this course, I saw a few negative reviews but decided to play anyway and I'm glad I did. The course is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly. We went out on a Saturday morning and were done in 3.5 hours. I think it's a great value for the money and look forward to going back and playing again.
course improved
fairways better than last year. Greens still very thin. but improved
Aerated; Dog-leg Heaven
The aeation holes were still prevealant on the greens. The greens were also in not too good of shape because it seems that noone there repairs their ball marks. Just about every hole that is not a par 3 is a dog-leg, FYI.
nice layout
very good value with tee time from golf now, i was very please with the changes made to holes 16 and 17, this is the 1st time there for me since the changes, i will return in the future for sure!!! with no one in front of me i played in 2and half hsr!!
Wouldn't go out of my way to play again
Everything about the course was just average and playable. Greens were aerated maybe two weeks ago so putts didn't roll as well as I would have liked, also the tee boxes were in poor shape, and the fairways were patchy. The length of the course was also an issue. It was too short. Played from the white tees and only pulled my driver out no more than 4 times. Played with a friend and both agreed we most likely wouldn't come back. Morning price was overpriced for course conditions. Favorite part about my round was how friendly the staff was.
PGA TOUR READY
Great course but very challenging. Plenty of slopes and doglegged par 4 and par 5's. Friendly staff and well maintain course. You have to put your ball in the fairway or you will be shooting 120+ on your scorecard. Greens are absolutely pristine. Best course I have played year to date in the Potts town area, the place is absolutely fantastic.
It was windy and cold that day we played.
No comment at this time. Only played 9 holes as it was too cold.
Good for the price
The course layout is challenging for a first visit there. The greens are in great shape but couldn't say the same for the tee boxes. The fairways are great and the rough was very long so it penalizes you if your struggling off the tee box. Overall for the price I paid, I was highly satisfied. Just a small note, being big spray. The bugs will eat you alive.
What exactly do the mean by "National?"
This course gets some nice reviews but I don't get why. Yes the layout has potential and the greens have some character. But those green are also dreadfully slow. Expect to see weeds in the fairways, dandelions, and some bare patches. Maintenance is an issue.
Also, its a shooting gallery. #10 hole is the worst. Its a dogleg right and #8 green sits 70 yards from #10 green, center-to-center, on the inside of the dogleg! Push your #10 tee shot to the right and your next shot needs to go over #8 green.
Perhaps local comparisons are best. Its similar in quality to Limerick, but not at all in the same class as Raven's Claw, Bella Vista, or Turtle Creek.
They may as well call it Linfield International, or Linfield Intergalactic. FWIW. No way should it be getting 4 or 5 stars.
Greens air-ration,,, full price???
I made up my mind ,,, by the 2nd hole. that I would not be back!
They had no notice that the greens were airrated, Then they charged full price, most places let you know, and give a discount,,
the fairways where not keeped well,, alot of weeds , and different kinds of grass growing , all over the place.
The course was tight,, there were balls fling over our heads on alot of holes, I never heard 4 screaned so much in my life.
you need a flack vest to play this place
do yourself a favor,,,GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
they dont cut the grass even any where, not maintained at all.
really 6 bucks for a hot dog and a drink, they don`t suffer , with the economy
I drove 30 miles to play this course, next time I`ll stay closer to home.
Good Value for money. Reasonably challenging. In decent shape.
Rolling countryside with nice views, but very walkable. You see almost no houses from the course - nicely secluded. Reasonable challenge for a bogey golfer from the white tees. Significantly harder from the blue tees. Large greens with some slopes/ridges/tiers - better challenge than typical public course flat greens. Greens had been aerated, not grown in yet, but promising. Players should fix more ball marks. Bunkers can use fresh sand. Tee boxes need more grass seed, but OK. Ball washers, trash receptacles and water dispensers OK in number and placement. Cart paths well paved. Nice course - IMHO, better value than some other nearby courses.
This is a fun, challenging shot making golf course
From the friendly staff to the beautiful views, this golf course does not disappoint. It is a fun yet challenging course with strategically placed water hazards and bunkers. There are a lot of risk reward shots to try. I would suggest to anyone to give it a try!
Good stuff
awesome staff. well designed course. not very well maintained.
Feels like "home" from the moment you walk in.
Hadn't played this course in the past and I'm really not sure why. Course has a solid layout with varying challenges, good condition and pace of play didn't seem to be an issue even though it was pretty full for this time of year. Can't say enough about the staff. From the owner through the grounds crew EVERYONE is extremely friendly and accommodating. Just a great atmosphere there and we will be going back many times. If fact we started thinking about membership after only playing there once. Glad we found this course and we are looking forward to seeing it in spring and summer weather.
Linfield National played well
Course was in pretty good shape considering the time of year.
Play moved along nicely and had a round of about 3 3/4 hrs.
Staff very friendly and accomadating. R.J. Burke
good day
For this time of the year the course was very playable. The greens were clean and the leaves removeed from the fairways. The sand traps could use a little attention. I was pleased to see that they were cutting trees and rolloing the tee boxes. I give them and a plus for trying to maintain the course.
nice course, great value
winter golf, unbelievable deal only $10, nice course, I'll want to come back and try it again in Spring... mostly easy holes with a few difficult holes mixed in... tees all flush with grass, greens rolled OK, will try it again sometime soon
Cant wait to play in the spring !
Played this course in January and it was in great shape. Still very green everywhere. Cant wait to go back when its warm haha.
Great golfnow rate !
