Not as bad as everyone says
I played here with some friends for the first time and I've heard many things from this course is old, greens are bad, or the course is in rough shape.
To be honest, the course was pretty good compared to others I've played. Greens were great and some of the holes were awesome to play.
I would definitely play again, but this time not in the pouring rain. But I had a blast!
Nice layout
Good layout. Greens were in. Ice shape. Cart path will beat you up.
Great time
The course was in very good shape, the back nine is more challenging than the front. The cart paths need some work, but overall the course looks good. Lots of hills which can make it difficult when teeing off as it can be difficult to know if the group ahead is truly out of the way. It has a large driving range allowing for plenty of room to spread out. The staff were very nice. We had a group ahead of us who were very slow which made the trailing group hit into us a couple of times given the lack of visibility mentioned earlier. Overall we were pleased with the course and would definitely return.
Decent course, nice layout
The course was decent. The fairways were alright. I thought the greens were really sandy and slow. If they worked on the greens, it could be a lot better experience.
Nice Layout
This course has a nice layout. A good blend of hills, bunkers, and some blind shots. I only played the front 9 and at the time the greens were aerated. However, the greens still rolled true and well. I am looking forward to getting back to the CLT area soon to play the full course!
Beautiful greens
My first time playing this course. It was pretty nice. The cart paths are almost non-existent and very, very rough. However, the fairways were in good shape and the greens were awesome!
Father's day
Somec of it was Father's day. Lots of people so they ran out of carts and one of ours broke down. Probably took 5:15 hours to play 18 holes. Course layout was interesting with lots of elevation change, some water.. Couple holes were hidden so it was hard to tell when group ahead was clear and it was safe to hit. Carts paths were pretty rough. Staff was friendly.
Hometown guy
Course was in great shape I was disappointed that the city hasn’t put more money in upkeep of the course mosothe cart path’s need replacing
Nice course, bumpy ride
Wife and I played on a Sunday at 10:30. Nice layout, with a variety of hole shapes. Forgiving from the forward tees and a good test from the tips and blue where I played from. Used all the clubs in the bag. A few blind shots that require some course knowledge, which I didn’t have. Greens were receptive and medium speed. Played in about 2:45 with a threesome ahead of us. Only complaint, which others have mentioned is the condition of the cart paths. They are terrible bordering on dangerous in spots. Otherwise a great place for a nice round. We will definitely be back.
After days of rain
Was expecting to have a sloppy round after raining for days prior to my round. Surprisingly the course was I decent shape, aside from a couple big puddles here and there. The greens were immaculate. Understandably slow, but played well. Would definitely recommend and play this course again
Standard Muni
I had a gap in my schedule and no obligations to follow so I looked for a close by muni to play and found this track. For the price, it’s exactly what you’d expect and nothing more. Pace was great and kind employees. Probably a great place for local casual golfers.
Greens in great shape
For a public course in town, I was really blown away by the condition of the greens. In very good shape and played true. The rest of the course has seen a lot of rain recently but was starting to dry out. Besides a couple of tee boxes in bad shape, I found the condition very good for a public course that gets as much play as it does. For the price, this is a good option close to downtown Charlotte.
Love this course!
It is my first time playing at this course. The fairway, greens and hazards are so well kept. It is a bang for your buck. Definitely worth every penny. This will be my new home course
Not great
Making my way to all the public courses around Charlotte. It’s fine if you want to get out and play. It’s average all around (3 stars). I would recommend spending an extra $10 and going out to a course in the surrounding areas of Charlotte (Mathews, Concord, etc).
