always good
Honey Run is a great track and even though it was soggy today it still played fairly. Cart path only on several holes but no problem. Greens were smooth.
Wet
The course was very wet but understandable with all this great raining week long low we have over York, Co. I always feel Honey Run is top 2 maybe top 1 public course in the County.
A real headshaker?
I've played here for many years and always enjoyed the challenge of the layout. The course is generally in good condition and attracts golfers who are fairly accomplished. With that thought in mind, on quite a few occasions I've noticed a walker on this course quite a few times who uses a pull cart and insists on pulling his cart onto each green as he putts out. A total breach of golf etiquette. I've pointed this out to the staff several times in the past and identified the golfer but he continues to disrespect the course by pulling his cart onto the green. Either they don't care or they have told him and he ignores the warning. I guess he feels if Trump can drive a motor cart on the green he can pull his cart up there. I just can't stand to see a really nice course being abused in this manner. Speaks to the attitude of management in my opinion. SMH.
10/25/2017 - Honey Run Foursome
The course is in great shape. The rough is a little high but playable, although it was a bit difficult to find the golf ball (don't go in the rough and all is well). On this day the course looked to play a bit longer than the 6,400 yards from the White tees. Overall this is a great value for the money, $8.50 with cart.
Very nice course.
Beautiful course with some tricky holes on it. Would recommend giving it a go if you are in the area. Well worth the price in my honest opinion.
First time. Would play again in a heartbeat.
Drove 2 hours from the philly area to enjoy this fantastic layout at honey run. Based on reviews it was everything that we expected and more. I only wish that i had booked a return round on our way back home. I we be revisiting again soon.
My favorite course
Honey Run is in my opinion the best golf course in York county. Fairways are always well maintained tee boxes and greens are great. Staff is always friendly. Clubhouse is kept nice and clean. Carts are always in good shape.
Honey Run golf
Great course. Played it 100+ times over 40 years. Always a good time. All positive.
A Gem
Even after what looked to be a major amount of rain for the area, the course was in very good shape. Greens were fast and true. Phenomenal value for quality of course!
Good shape
Played this course since the 70's. Probably in some of the best shape it's ever been in. We got rained out but Golf Now gave us a credit for 9 holes.
Still a great play, but way too slow pace of play
This track was my favorite course for years, but I stopped playing it because I could never get a round in within 4.5 hours. I showed up for this tee time and there were no power carts to be had. I checked in and asked what the deal was, and the guy told me we (twosome) would be following a tournament that just started. Say what? Ridiculous of them to do, causing lots of wait time for us. His only comment being, sorry, that's just what they did, I don't have control over it.
We finished in 4:50, which was not too bad considering... but management seems bent on squeezing as many as they can into the tee sheet, and lots of hackers play this course. Don't enjoy 5+ hour rounds, sorry. Won't be playing it again any time soon.
Very nice for central PA
I played with both of my sons on July 6 and the course was in great condition. I played the course three or four times before and was always impressed with the layout, the course conditions, and just the general overall appearance of the facilities. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great course at a great value.
Honey Run...a great value
The course was in good shape especially since there was rain the night prior to when I played. I really like this course as there is good elevation changes as well as playing long from the white tees. #9 is a tricky par 3 and farther than it looks.
