My favorite course
Honey Run is in my opinion the best golf course in York county. Fairways are always well maintained tee boxes and greens are great. Staff is always friendly. Clubhouse is kept nice and clean. Carts are always in good shape.
Honey Run golf
Great course. Played it 100+ times over 40 years. Always a good time. All positive.
A Gem
Even after what looked to be a major amount of rain for the area, the course was in very good shape. Greens were fast and true. Phenomenal value for quality of course!
Good shape
Played this course since the 70's. Probably in some of the best shape it's ever been in. We got rained out but Golf Now gave us a credit for 9 holes.
Still a great play, but way too slow pace of play
This track was my favorite course for years, but I stopped playing it because I could never get a round in within 4.5 hours. I showed up for this tee time and there were no power carts to be had. I checked in and asked what the deal was, and the guy told me we (twosome) would be following a tournament that just started. Say what? Ridiculous of them to do, causing lots of wait time for us. His only comment being, sorry, that's just what they did, I don't have control over it.
We finished in 4:50, which was not too bad considering... but management seems bent on squeezing as many as they can into the tee sheet, and lots of hackers play this course. Don't enjoy 5+ hour rounds, sorry. Won't be playing it again any time soon.
Very nice for central PA
I played with both of my sons on July 6 and the course was in great condition. I played the course three or four times before and was always impressed with the layout, the course conditions, and just the general overall appearance of the facilities. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great course at a great value.
Honey Run...a great value
The course was in good shape especially since there was rain the night prior to when I played. I really like this course as there is good elevation changes as well as playing long from the white tees. #9 is a tricky par 3 and farther than it looks.
Honey Run
Still one of the nicest public courses in the area. Greens were just aerated so putting was difficult, but it is early spring.
Great value
Course was in great shape. Greens were in mid-season shape, but good for winter golf.
not bad for February in central PA
nice day, so had to get out. others had the same idea, as parking lot had many vehicles. my twosome went off at 12:30 and played 2 holes before hitting a slow 3some (other side of fairway and waiting for turn to hit, walking back and forth for clubs, you name it). we noticed a foursome in front of them, so we new the pace would be slowing down for us. however, we noticed an empty course behind us, so went back 3 holes and played two par 5's and par 3 again. we then planned to skip the last 3 holes. we caught the 3some again before finishing the front nine. the foursome in front of them, nowhere to be seen. would not let us play through. so, in the end we got in our 18 holes, but it was one of those days.
Well-maintained course
Well-maintained course The staff was very friendly
Excellent greens
I played Honey Run for my 51st birthday. I treated my dad and we had a great time. Staff and golfers were very friendly. It is a challenging course with character. Greens were treated a few weeks ago & they still were running fast and true. The course was playing long. Not sure if it was the mountain air. I am single digit handicap golfer. I shot 85. Looking forward to coming back to shoot a better score. I would definitely recommend playing this course even if you have a drive. It was work the trip. Great price on GolfNow was a nice birthday gift to myself :)
Excellent Value
Course in very good shape. we played in just over four hours.
Nice course. Good value.
Decent value and one of the nicer public courses in the area. Not a lot of trouble on the course. Some trees and a few tough bunker positions but overall, very playable.
Slow Go on the Course
The staff was friendly. We teed off on time (a little after 10:00), but that was the last of being on schedule. We arrived at the 2nd tee to find the group ahead of us waiting in their cart for the fairway to clear. By hole number 6, there were 2 groups waiting on the tee. We were rained out after 7 holes which took a little over 2 hours. Other than the slow pace, the course was in pretty good shape. Next time I will schedule an earlier tee time.
