The greens have been lost.
I have played this course many times over the past 15 years and had always been highly impressed with the layout and course conditioning. However, this club has fallen on economic hard times, and the current management company is not putting nearly enough money into the upkeep of the course. While most of the fairways are in good condition, the bentgrass greens are failing and in some cases, are as much as 50% dirt that has been colored green. Weeds are overrunning the greens and all of the rough areas, something never seen as recently as 2 years ago. Also, there had been a heavy rain 3 days earlier, but the bunkers had not yet been touched, all were washed out, and our group decided to rake a spot in the bunker then drop onto the raked area to at least have the semblance of a normal bunker lie. I really hope a new group will take this over and bring this course back to its former glory.
