Course needs some work. It's a difficult layout overall but made much more difficult by some of the conditions. Also looked up all of the information about how great the offerings were at the restaurant and arrived early to enjoy lunch before our round only to find it had been closed since November! Saturday play pace was not bad, a little slow, but we moved as quickly as possible due to groups in front of us and still received several warnings to keep up and that we were behind. Obviously lousy system and quite annoying. It was not a bad experience overall, but I believe in honest reviews so there you have it.

Holy Range Balls

I was in town for the weekend and looking for a course to play. The reviews looked promising (more on that) so I booked a round. I was a little concerned when I noticed all of the other local courses had full tee times the night before but there were a lot of openings at Brookstone. I was sent out on my own behind a foursome so pace of play as a single was slow. I arrived early enough to be put ahead of them but wasn’t. After about 3 holes the let me play through. There are range balls EVERYWHERE. I went left on the first hole which would put me between 1 and 10 fairways- impossible to find my ball. The course itself was in pretty good shape considering its March. However the bunkers need more sand, I would not play out of them for fear of damaging my clubs. The areas just off the course weren’t so great but ok enough I guess.

Don’t be fooled by the reviews- players get a free beer with a 5 star review. I don’t generally leave reviews but wanted to have an honest review of the course for others.
