Cobb's Glen Country Club

About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Keep coming back
It's not the closest or cheapest but I play here every chance I get.
One of the best
Course was in good shape for end of summer. Quite a few divots in the fairways needing work but that's more on players than the course itself in my opinion. Tons of work going on to improve conditions and the course in general. Even with that said and everything going on its one of the best local courses.
Really good course that will get better
First time playing here and first off every member of the staff was extremely friendly and just happy you were there. You can tell they’re proud of their course. There is some work going on but doesn’t hinder play. Tee boxes, greens and fairways were all in really great shape. Very nice Golf Carts with GPS. The only small down side is the cart parts need work but they’re working on that. A couple really long Par 3’s to watch out for. 180-205 from whites.
Great layout, fun and challenging. No irrigation here and it was early July so it was a little crispy. Greens were recently punched but they offered a discount so they were cognizant of that and very fairly priced. Still, considering all that, it was in great shape. Pro shop staff was incredibly friendly, bar staff was missing and we couldn't get a drink at the turn so that was a negative. But all in all a good find and a solid 4 out of 5!
Overall Great Day
Nice open layout with plenty of length. Greeens are recovering from being punched so they were a still sandy. Pace of play was slow. It should be considered holiday play so understood. A marshall could of helped. Wish it was closer to my home. Strongly recomend. It will be a positive experience.
Enjoyed the round
Good conditions all around, fairways, greens, bunkers.
Lots of work going around for the cart path and improvements overall.
The clubhouse should have been open on Sunday 10 am... I think.
Slowly becoming one of my favorite places to play
Course conditions seem to be getting better every time that I visit. The only true complaint that I have is the cart paths or lack thereof in spots. Once the new sprinkler system is in place I believe that it will be hard to find a better local course.
Continues to get better
Great layout and greens and fairways get better every time I play here.
One of my favorites
The new updates and course improvements are taking shape. Really hopeful for the full renovation completion.
Keeps getting better
I must admit that my first time playing this course was less than exciting. The main factor was it was still winter and the course was dormant. Last time I went, spring was bringing the course to life and it was much more enjoyable. This trip was even better. The maintenance and improvements to the course showed that time new owner is standing by his word and doing as much as possible to make this a top course in the area. Dont get me wrong, there's still much to do, but it's really coming along and it shows. It's very challenging for my limited game but still a joy to play.
