The Club at Brookstone

I heard this place was under new ownership so I wanted to come out and try it. I think the difference is night and day compared what it was a year ago when I last played here. The rest of the Upstate needs to lookout, because this is becoming a seriously amazing golf course. I am adding this into my list of course that I like to cycle through!!

Also their golf carts are really nice, definitely the best of any public course in the area

Great layout and really impressed with the condition of the greens. Good, true speed on the greens. Looking forward to playing this course more as the conditions continue to improve especially during the summer months. Kudos to the staff!

The greens are too hard and fast. Every ball that hit pin high on the greens would roll 20’ off the back side of the greens. Every putt had to be a defensive putt as anything with any speed would roll 10’ at least past the hole.

This was my first time playing this course and honestly, it was a pleasant surprise. I expected the course conditions, particularly the greens, and pace of play to be not so good on a public course on a Friday. I was wrong! Brookstones course conditions were really good, the fairways played well and the greens were in good condition. The greens played slightly bumpy on a few holes but nothing that would ruin a round. Due to the rainy weather recently, there were a few soggy spots on the course but not too bad.

Biggest con I’d point out is the driving range was like hitting out of a mud pit. Driving range should be closed off for a week or so to allow grass to grow back so that you can actually hit from some grass and not all dirt/mud.

All in all, I look forward to playing this course regularly in the future.

Fun course with lots of elevation change. Need to hit your spots. Reading the greens was tricky for us flatlander’s from Florida!

Me and a buddy showed up to play guy in pro shop was nice told us to go whoever ready there wasn’t anyone else out there but us. It did drizzle rain on us about an hour. Then turned out to be nice. Fairways were very bare and hard. The greens was bumpy with some thin spots. Not as good as a course in a community like that should be.

The course is under new ownership and you can really tell. Every time I play here it’s a noticeable improvement in course conditions. Greens today were in great shape. I think Brookstone is now better than Cobb’s Glenn. I think I am going to become a member here because it’s just getting that good.

Wow! This course was so much fun! The layout and pace of play were right on. The greens looked good and felt good. The clubhouse has a great selection of beers too- bought some and took them with us on the course. My buddys and I all had a great time.

I've played here many times- to my understanding it has gone under new ownship and I can already see vast improvement. The staff are friendly. The course is challenging in a fun way to test your skill. The greens are vibrant and well taken care of. I met the new owner and he has some big plans for the course- like new carts with screens. Excited to come back even more now.

we booked this thru golf now and it said 56.00 due at course. The gentleman there said because I didn't pay on line that I didn't get that rate. I payed 70.00 when it should have been 56.00. That was very aggravating . Then the greens were horrible. When you would putt the ball would literally bounce and change direction. There were many divots and bare spots. But the worst was how much the ball bounced. Would NOT play here again.

Nice layout brings a variety of shots and clubs into play. Played the Blue/White tees today adding some additional yardage to play. Practice tees, practice green Nd putting green in good shape and well positioned to move players through to the first tees. Our group will be back for more rounds soon.

We enjoyed the variety of holes and could see the potential for a great course, but the maintenance was pretty poor. The fairways had huge chunks of grass from the mower, especially on the front 9. The greens were especially disappointing, with ant hills, weeds, and patches of barely any grass, making speed very hard to judge. Also the grain of the greens would push even short to medium putts off-line. Overall our group was not impressed, especially since we drove 45 minutes to play with the teeoff.com deal.

Great course! First time playing here in 3 years.

It did not disappoint!

I think over the last year this has become the best course in Anderson, especially for the price. Really can’t beat it and I always enjoy my round here.
