Wildwood Green Golf Course
About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Good course. Golfers too slow
Played here many times. Today 9 holes took 2hr 20 min. I bailed after 9.. Mostly because the group in front didn’t know golf etiquette . No ready golf. Poor use of golf cart. Walking across entire fairways while cart is on the path.( it was not cart path only). Wish a ranger would come by. I am sure we have all had this happen from time to time but it ruins it for folks who play efficiently.
Wish the nice new carts had a “ Call a Ranger” feature!
Great value
Staff was very pleasant and gave a bonus course book for our first visit. Nice, friendly layout. Got rained out on the 8th hole but received a rain check for the back nine.
My grandkids went back and enjoyed their visit also.
Will definitely be back fir a complete round.
Excellent Course
The weather, course, and pace of play fabulous today. Really enjoyed it. It’s challenging but fun.
Love This Course
Really enjoyed the layout of this course. Several challenging g holes and right club selection is key. Very friendly staff and enjoyed the southern hospitality of the course members who took the time to strike up friendly conversation. Will definitely play again.
Wildwood
This is my 4th time playing Wildwood and I was disappointed with the shape of the course outside of the greens compared to the last couple of times I have been there. Tee box’s were beat up, fairways were in awful shape, but the greens rolled very nice. The whole staff seems to really hate there job.
WWG Always a Great Choice
The course is looking even better!! The staff is always friendly. Everything is clean. Love Love this course.
Could use a bit of maintenance.
What’s with all the rocks, chunks of asphalt, broken tee’s on the tee boxes and dirt lines running down the fairways (are they ever going to fill those in?)? Where they replaced the cart paths there are so many rocks adjacent to the path that you could ruin a club. Pretty sloppy.
Practice areas are small and driving range is usually crowded in the afternoon, especially when the high school golf teams are practicing or have a match.
Pace of play can be slow, especially on weekends.
I like the layout. Greens are Champion Bermuda and can be fast and tricky.
Staff is usually helpful.
Love this course but miserable pace of play today
The course had absolutely too many people packed on top of each other for tee times . The Marshal did nothing to speed of an obnoxiously slow foursome who dribbled the ball in front of themselves on each hit. Rather than being courteous and letting faster player through, they held up everyone. We finally left on #16 and a group behind us left on #12. If you pack course, help keep a reasonable pace of play. Not fair for one group to ruin it for everyone.
Course
Challenging course offering opportunity to test skills i—narrow fairways, water in play. .course is I. Course is in good shape with signs in a couple areas of work in progress for season opening.
Needs grass
I know they had made some good improvements however I wish they would overseed they fairways to have some grass to play off during the cold months. Also spread out the tee time’s so we don’t have to wait to play all day.
Decent course but be careful with afternoon tee times
Wildwood is a decent course but management way over booked tee times and there we no rangers on the course enforcing pace of play. We teed off 15 min late and were 30 min behind the “pace” according to the gps in the cart after 1 hole. Wildwood also squeezed in 9 hole tee times after 5 o’clock so we had to wait 15 min on a new group in front of us joining the round after the front 9. Front desk offered me a 9 hole rain check for the troubles but then we were asked to give the rain check back after returning to the 10th tee. It was apparently a “take the rain check and come back, not here’s a free 9 holes for the inconvenience. The round was $35 so it was more about the principle- we just wanted to play 18 holes. We barely finished 14 holes. Decent course but in the Raleigh area you have plenty of better options.
