About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

course was in great condition due to a tournament being out there recently, greens were lightning quick, rough was nice and thick, only thing is it has to be one of the most booked courses around it is always very very crowded and not the fastest pace of play
Great Course - Excellent Value
The Course is in great condition! Our group had a great time!
Wildwood Green-Overscheduled abd overplayed
I love this course and the location is very convenient but the course has its issues. On the positive, the course is tight and requires great tee shots to score well. It will definitely test your metal and improve your game. Practice facilities are good enough but a bit on the small side. The staff is friendly. As for improvements:
1-The course is constantly overbooked with a lot of very slow players. Combine those two together and you get a lot of frustrating play.
2-Course maintenance is average. The greens look like the equipment is leaking fluids and leaving burn marks everywhere. Rough is sloppy.
3-Hitting balls at the range could be much easier if you didn’t have to go to the clubhouse first.
They punched green
Last week green was perfect. They punched green few days ago but still rolls ok
Fast green
Green speed is like a private golf course. Slow pace though on Saturday afternoon... staff is very friendly.
First Time
Original tee time was 3:30, only playing 9. Asked the starter if there was any availability to go early and he immediately called in and gave me the green light to go off the back. Incredible course, fun layout, with lightning greens. Definitely will be back.
Pleasant surprise
A lot of prior reviews mentioned slow pace of play, overplay etc. so I ready myself for a 4 1/2 hour round at 4 o’clock in the afternoon On a GolfNow hot deal teetime. I can see why it may take 4 1/2 to 5 hours to play Because it is a challenging course. Tight fairways, some carries over water. If you don’t have the game for it, And you spend time searching for balls, I can really see the five hour round. But if you come with a little bit of patience, And hope and pray that the course will not be a four hour ,Wildwood Green will reward you will Excellent conditions on the Teebox and in the Fairway. And if you love, smooth glassy quick US Open Pinehurst style greens in terms of speed, Then I recommend you play at WG. I am going to come back next week again And hope for the best in terms to speed play.
But yesterday, I caught up with two members After three holes and we had a really good time. We finished in Three hours and 40 minutes. It was a pleasant surprise, and I enjoyed the round.
