Wildwood Green Golf Course
About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Best course in Raleigh
Great condition. Finished in less than 4 hours playing as 2 some. Friendly staff with good practice facilities. Heading back next week. Get there early to chip and putt.
Good place in north Raleigh
Saturday afternoon play. Lots of people but the pace is pretty good. Single player, so get grouped with another group. Friendly people.
Course is beautiful but a bit old. Man’s locker room is better than some of the most expensive places. Shower works, but I didn’t use. Club house was still open when I finished the round around 8 pm.
Wildwood Greens
Nice course beautiful day but pace of play was ridiculously slow so I left after five holes
Didn’t see any rangers on the course checking on the pace of play
Slow Play
4 hours and 50 minutes is way too long for a round of golf on a Tuesday. Greens were very good, fairways had been aerated. Fun layout, has gotten too pricey for me (senior) unless you luck into a Hot Deal.
Fast fast fast greens
We played here as a warm up round on Saturday for The Neuse CC on Sunday and the greens were faster here!(writing after Sunday round.)
Had a great time with Tony and Bruce. Finished under 4hrs. Will be back and speak wisely about wildwood. Thanks y’all!
Good track
Not long but you need to be accurate off the tee. Greens were rolling very well, bunkers in great shape. Driving range was tiny and practice area was behind the clubhouse not close to the starter on #1 tee box, They had to bump my tee time because starter sent my group off 8 min early. He said I had to be there at least 5 minutes prior, I arrived at #1 tee box 2minutes prior to actual tee time. Was not aware of this. Will be back as I enjoyed the weekday round. Heard that weekend rounds play very slow but this round was about 3 hr 45 min
Excellent Greens
Best condition I've seen the greens in 5 years...not overly fast, very true, smooth roll.
New sand in some of the bunkers is very good...some players could learn to use the rakes. Go play WG before the leaves fall!
Excellent Greens
Greens were really true and quite quick if you got above the hole. Fairways are in good condition, rough is manageable but a lot of hard pan near the woods on #9 and 16. As is generally the story at WG, the pace of play can get brutal.....we waited an easy 25 minutes for the group ahead of us. Two groups quit after 14 holes because it got so slow. Good course, they just need to get people moving!!!!!
Very Good Conditions - Very Slow Pace
Conditions very good all round. Greens are fast and firm, fairways in good shape. Bunkers were sloppy, but it was late in the day. Use a rake, people.
Front nine pace was 2 1/2 hours. Group ahead had almost two open holes in front of them. No sign of a marshall. Fortunate that they quit after nine.
Great value for Raleigh
Out of the courses available in Raleigh this one is on the nicer end. As well it is similar price to many of the other courses which don’t have the same quality.
$8 range balls (20) balls
Nice layout challenging course. Pace of play in afternoon was horrendous almost 5 hrs. Not a ranger insight moving players along. Tee boxes with multiple foursomea waiting. But the worse part was the highway robbery from the clubhouse. $8 for small bucket of range balls no more than 20 balls in there totally unacceptable
