About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Golfer Reviews
Tough course Good condition
Really enjoyed this course. It’s fairly difficult terrain which is fun. It really weaves through a lot of houses which I’m not a huge fan of but it wasn’t that big of a deal. Drink cart tends to finish up a bit early so our 2:30 tee time only got one pass. Pace and spacing was really good. Didn’t feel like anyone was breathing down our neck while playing nor did we bunch up to the group ahead of us. I would highly recommend!
GPS Carts
The cart locked up on me several times and I had to call the clubhouse to unlock. They finally brought out a new cart for me. A major disruption in my round.
GPS carts sometimes malfunction.
On the first hole my cart locked up 3 times and I had to call the pro shop to reset it. Very frustrating and ruined my whole round. They finally brought me another cart.
Great Greens / log jammed start
I played as a single on a Tuesday afternoon.
For $31 hot deal, the greens were amazing and that of a private club not a walk on track.
Friendly Staff - Great Conditions - Slow Play
Mid-afternoon Saturday, went off as a single. 90 degrees and humid (NC summer). Conditions very good throughout, just a few tees struggling.
Got waved through a foursome on 4 tee (thanks!), zipped along through 11. Caught a thressome on 12, bogged down from there. Ended up skipping 14 and 15, but still an enjoyable afternoon.
Great find for out of town player
I was in Raleigh for business and had an afternoon free. I chose Wildwood based on the other reviews here on GolfNow and I’m glad I did. The staff made me feel welcomed and I really enjoyed the course. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Wednesday afternoon but good for them. I found the course to be challenging with a nice layout and in great condition. Would certainly recommend and would love to play again next time I’m in the area.
Nice course. Questionable staffing.
Ranger was rude. Only got through 9 holes because the course was so backed up (granted it was 5:30) but I’ve played 18 in 2/12-3hrs but was only able to get through 9 by the time it got dark (8:15) and the guy at the front desk was waiting outside the turn basically waving us in so we wouldn’t make it (even though it was dark and we didn’t plan on it) and when we asked if they’d mind giving us credit for a 9 the kid said you paid the twilight rate ($40) and you only get to play as many holes as you can before it gets dark.
Basically, what this review boils down to is if you’re not a member you get the option of crap tee times and also treated like it. Nice course but won’t be back.
Love this course!
Great course all around. The tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens are all kept in great condition. Bathrooms and water stations with the best crushed ice on the course are awesome. Staff is very friendly. Track isn't very difficult, keep your tee shot in play and the course is moderate, get into trouble and the course will punish you.
