Wildwood Green Golf Course
About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Great find for out of town player
I was in Raleigh for business and had an afternoon free. I chose Wildwood based on the other reviews here on GolfNow and I’m glad I did. The staff made me feel welcomed and I really enjoyed the course. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Wednesday afternoon but good for them. I found the course to be challenging with a nice layout and in great condition. Would certainly recommend and would love to play again next time I’m in the area.
Nice course. Questionable staffing.
Ranger was rude. Only got through 9 holes because the course was so backed up (granted it was 5:30) but I’ve played 18 in 2/12-3hrs but was only able to get through 9 by the time it got dark (8:15) and the guy at the front desk was waiting outside the turn basically waving us in so we wouldn’t make it (even though it was dark and we didn’t plan on it) and when we asked if they’d mind giving us credit for a 9 the kid said you paid the twilight rate ($40) and you only get to play as many holes as you can before it gets dark.
Basically, what this review boils down to is if you’re not a member you get the option of crap tee times and also treated like it. Nice course but won’t be back.
Love this course!
Great course all around. The tees, fairways, bunkers, and greens are all kept in great condition. Bathrooms and water stations with the best crushed ice on the course are awesome. Staff is very friendly. Track isn't very difficult, keep your tee shot in play and the course is moderate, get into trouble and the course will punish you.
Lots of water
Course uses water frequently. It does play reasonable, bit has some really tough landing points for less experienced golfers. It was enjoyable to play. Staff were helpful and friendly. Cart monitor was a little too rigid about where it locked you off course.
Feels Like Private Club
Second time playing Wildwood Green — it’s going to the top of my list. It has the look and feel of a country club. The grounds are well maintained, the best golf carts, stocked pro shop, excellent practice range + putting greens. The course itself was in perfect condition; surprising considering how hot and dry it’s been. Greens and bunkers were in great shape. Pace was 18 in ~ 4 hours.
Love the course layout. Several challenging water hazards and fairway elevations which are fun.
Thanks to the WG staff for the amazing experience they provide!!
Positive Experience
In general, the course was in good shape but I'm not sure what was going on with the greens. It's on the shorter side but still a fun track with interesting risk/reward decisions for longer hitters. Staff was very friendly, and it was nice to see a snack cart out at an affordable public course. Wide open course with a Tuesday afternoon tee time, and caught up with a group on front of me and had a good time on the 2nd nine. I don't go here often, but always enjoy it.
Great Course
Course was in good shape. Recently rolled and sanded greens were not the best though. 5PM tee time for ~$30 cant beat it
Great course
Wildwood Greens is a great course. A bit on the expensive side unless you get a deal. The course is in great shape with the exception of some tee boxes. Fun yet challenging. Driving range is small but in great condition.
