About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Golfer Reviews
A good one!
Nice golf course in a golf/ home community. The homes are set back nicely, giving the feeling that the course was not squeezed in between the homes. Fairways and greens were good, tee boxes need some work, overall, a nice course.
Great value course
Wildwood is a great course for the money. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood within city limits. Definitely worth playing although it will be very slow. Lots of golfers walking in the afternoons.
Great Course
Played out here til dark from 5 PM. It was a little slow and not much traffic. Greens are in good shape, fairways are growing back in.
Great course overall, lacking in practice facilities a bit
Good Early Spring Conditions
Greens roll true and are at a reasonable speed.
Fairways are greening up but still thin.
Recent irrigation work has left GUR situations in several of the fairways. Good deal for $40 or less.
Hard track in heavy wind, in good condition
Found this course to really feast on some of my weaknesses. It blew hard so the wind made it trickier. Lots of elevation change. Course condition was very good overall, but greens needed to be blown off, lots of junk from trees on the green but on such a windy day it happens. Greenside bunkers are brutally deep, can’t see over them on multiple holes.
B group in front of us was quite slow. Ranger told them to hurry up with no change. Round took 4 hours 40 min.
Fairway grass still a bit thin and bumpy, otherwise course was great shape
More like Backwoods
$34 for 9 holes during the week at 5 oclock is criminal for this course. Half the fairways are mud and dirt with no grass. Had been dry and sunny the last 5 days so I have no idea why it was so muddy. No overseed and no maintenance. Layout is good and challenging, greens are good. But tee boxes and fairways are a joke.
Good Course
Played a round with some club members. Good company and a good course. A few fairways were cart path only which was a little annoying, the sand needed to be turned, and the greens were a bit slow, but we'll kept. The rest of the course played well.
Worst Pace of Play out of any Raleigh clubs!!
I’ve played here multiple times and the course layout is awesome with great greens. The conditions overall could be improved for the price. The issue with this course is the tee time availability and pace of play. The past three rounds can’t even make it to the turn because so many groups backed up on tee. You can’t get tee time on weeekends because they allow so many members.
Good course - Not for beginners
The course was in great shape and the staff and facilities were very good. This can be a difficult course and had the fastest greens I have ever played on. But definitely a course worth playing.
Improved
It’d been a few years since I played last. The course is in good shape with improvements of grasses on the fairways and the putting greens. Newly paved cart paths and landscaping were a welcomed sight.
Tight track
Course doesn’t allow many bad shots being so tight but fun to play. Greens are in great shape most fairways also in good condition. The improvements being done will help also.
