Wildwood Green Golf Course
About
Wildwood Green Golf Club in northern Raleigh was designed with players of all skill levels in mind, Opened in 1986, the classic layout underwent a major renovation 10 years later that made it into a challenging but playable test that welcomes everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Generous landing areas offer some room for error off of the tee and the greens are large and inviting. There are still plenty of trees and sand traps to keep the layout interesting though. Accuracy and careful pin placement are also required to handle Wildwood Green's subtle elevation changes. The golf course finishes with one of its most difficult holes. This par 4 is a slight dogleg right with Carolina pines bordering the right edge as well as a bunker to the left. The approach is an uphill, blind shot to a deep and undulated green.

Lots of water
Course uses water frequently. It does play reasonable, bit has some really tough landing points for less experienced golfers. It was enjoyable to play. Staff were helpful and friendly. Cart monitor was a little too rigid about where it locked you off course.
Feels Like Private Club
Second time playing Wildwood Green — it’s going to the top of my list. It has the look and feel of a country club. The grounds are well maintained, the best golf carts, stocked pro shop, excellent practice range + putting greens. The course itself was in perfect condition; surprising considering how hot and dry it’s been. Greens and bunkers were in great shape. Pace was 18 in ~ 4 hours.
Love the course layout. Several challenging water hazards and fairway elevations which are fun.
Thanks to the WG staff for the amazing experience they provide!!
Positive Experience
In general, the course was in good shape but I'm not sure what was going on with the greens. It's on the shorter side but still a fun track with interesting risk/reward decisions for longer hitters. Staff was very friendly, and it was nice to see a snack cart out at an affordable public course. Wide open course with a Tuesday afternoon tee time, and caught up with a group on front of me and had a good time on the 2nd nine. I don't go here often, but always enjoy it.
Great Course
Course was in good shape. Recently rolled and sanded greens were not the best though. 5PM tee time for ~$30 cant beat it
Great course
Wildwood Greens is a great course. A bit on the expensive side unless you get a deal. The course is in great shape with the exception of some tee boxes. Fun yet challenging. Driving range is small but in great condition.
Great Course
Even though I always play terribly at this course, it is a great layout and the staff are always very friendly. The pace of play is never great, but that is not the course's fault.
Solid, but slow
The course has a nice layout. The greens were in great shape, but there was one fairway being worked on when I played. My buddy and I played on a week day right after lunch and finished in a bit over 4 hours. Would have preferred a round under 4 hours. Overall it was a nice experience and I’d play there again.
One of the last belt line semi-privates left
Good family course. Getting a lot of play because members and daily pay options are limited in RDU area, now. This is great for WW but not for golfers looking for value places to play.
It doesn't help with pace when the foursome in front splits up at the turn in two groups and on 16th hole a local jumps out to play in front of you. Then proceeds to need 3 off the tee to get 125 yards.
City of Raleigh or county of Wake needs to get involved in keeping golf alive in the area as it continues to grow. WW will be soon so oversaturated it will pack its success too by frustrating better players who will seek other options.
