Enjoyable Golf Course
As an older Golfer, I like this course because you really can’t get into a lot of trouble.
There are some creek crossings but not too much water comes into play. Not many fairway bunkers and not many around the greens. The fairways are wide open, it’s well maintained and a great value overall. The greens are well maintained and they change the pin placements regularly.
It’s always well staffed and the onsite food is good and features lots of options.
good and challenging course
I have played waterford a few times over the years, and I just recently got back into golf so I am playing here again. The greens are really good, but don't let the practice putting green fool you. They aren't all that fast ;) The sand is soft.
The course offers some challenging shots, and there are usually a few pin positions which make things interesting. This course probably has the best greens around York County. Some of the easy shots end up with small'ish greens that can make them seem easier than they are.
The carts are starting to see some wear, but I believe there is new management that is starting to clean up some things from years past.
Overall the course is very nice, friendly staff, and the rangers will help you out if you get stuck behind the super senior quad group.
I look forward to playing here again.
Not senior friendly
It's been 10+ years since I last played Waterford and found improvements to the layout. I was surprised at the number of cart path-only holes due to wetness. What brings their score down is the length made it tough on four seniors. Adding some forward tee boxes between the whites and reds would make the course more playable and enjoyable.
Green's!
The course was soggy but the green's were phenomenal
Good condition, mostly dry, speedy greens
Finally, a dry course, greens were good and speedy, but a little fuzzy. I have not played here in years but will be back. Front side cart paths repaired, back 9 is still needed.
With all the rain the course was in good condition
The greens are in great shape and don’t mind coming back
Work is paying off
I've been playing Waterford for several years now, though it had been a little while. We could see see that a lot of work was being done to improve the course since we last played, particularly the cart paths. The greens were really nice when we played on Oct. 27 and the fairways were in great shape.. Kudos to the management for the investments they have been making.
NO 100 YARD MARKERS!!!
Manager had all the 100 yard markers removed
MAKES ZERO SENSE
Well worth the money
Course was wet; but in good condition considering a lot of rain. Still a very good value.
Slow but fun
Course is in nice shape. Best I’ve seen it. Pace of play was my only complaint. 2.5 hour front nine. Seemed to get better on back nine.
Course is in great shape
No issues at all! Great layout, green grass everywhere, greens rolled true, staff extremely accommodating and our foursome played in about 3.5 hours. I hadn't played here in quite a while but it is now back on my rotation!
Waterford is a quality course.
The course is better than average. The fairways are in excellent condition as are most of the greens. There were several tee boxes that were a little ragged.
I really like the way the course played. The fairways are wide open and there is very little water that comes into play.
There is a driving range on-site as well as a putting area. A little interesting that there are no holes on the practice putting surface, they use markers with weighted bottoms that you can move around on the putting surface.
The carts were clean and worked well and there is plenty of parking.
It will be interesting to see what Mr Tepper does if anything to change or update this course.
