A good deal, for ypu money .
Course is in good shape for this time of year .Being an older ,established club, there are some unique holes, that will challenge your game !
A real gem !!
This was my first time playing this course and I cannot wait to play it again. The fairways were wide and in good shape. The greens were great, and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. There are several very long par 4 and par 5. It was a challenge to get on the green in three shots, but what fun !!!
This was a very challenging course, with a unique layout and design. Greens were hily and difficult. Don't let the yardage fool you
Will definitely play here again, with a very reasonable rate.
Rough shape
Losing some greens. Bare spots on fairways. Riding the cart paths jars teeth loose. Going down hill
Very poor condition
Was very disappointed. Greens, fairways in extremely poor condition. I realize we have had above normal rain in this area this year, but come on guys. The fairways appear to get mowed once every two weeks considering the lines of mowed grass in the fairways.
Needs some work, not all cart paths paved. lg grass clippings on the fairway
Not a bad course to play just needs some TLC. Just expected more from a course with country club in its name
Good greens. Everything else horrible.
Thought I got a good deal with this booking. I've driven by the course for years and finally decided to play. There was an advisory the the fairways were being overseeded but I essentially played the entire round from rough like conditions in the fairway. They may need to close the course a while longer while they get the course in playable shape.
They are working hard to make course improvements and it's showing in the progress
Have always liked this course and it should be back in good shape soon.
Needs much work
I was visiting South Caralina and played this course. The staff was very friendly, however the course needs severe attention. I do not know if they had a drought during the 2012 season, but I would pass on this course til at least July, hoping that they get needed rain and maintenance. They did aireate the greens and fairways hoping to grow some more grass. Hopefully it helps.
Do not play....... No matter what.
First I booked as a last minute thing called the course while on the way for directions because I was having trouble finding the address. The guy ansered the phone and couldn't even tell me the address or directions to the course. We finally got the address and got there. It is nothing but dirt. You physically have to move your ball to a patch of grass which by the way is about the size of a dollar bill. I honesty was affraid to hit my clubs. I played seven holes thinking it would get better and nope got worse. AGAIN I REPEAT DO NOT PLAY NO MATTER WHAT.
Dirt Fairways
Some fairways and greens were aweful. Dirt patches everywhere!
Overall good for the price
Played there before in July and Aug was in way better shape, the winter and spring toke it's toll on the course.
Needs work won't go back for a few months
The course is almost like playing on a NON grass course.
Review for Springlake Golf course located in York SC. Three of the holes have a "no cart" advisory because there is no grass growing on the fairways. There were more than three holes with no grass on the fairways. I was told that somehow they over sprayed the course and the grass died. If you enjoy hitting your golf shots off of dirt then this course is for you. When I arrived at the course there were two other golfers there. We asked if since there was no one else on the course could we be allowed to start earlier than our tee time, we were told no, since we had booked a tee time we had to tee off at that time. We were eventually allowed to tee off 4 minutes earlier. For the entire round, there were probably 10 other golfers on the course. Had I known the condition of the course I would NOT have booked a tee time. This course is to be avoided because of the condition of the fairway playing conditions.
Washed out, no grass mostly dirt in fairways.
Unfortunately the course seems to be suffering from a lack of resources. The fairways were washed out which I would be ok with this time of year but the problem is that there is little to no grass. I love this course, the layout is challenging and the green slopes are some of the best around, and for the record any money spent on the course has gone to preserving the greens, and I can overlook a lot of sins and blemishes but this was too much. I wish them the best of luck.
Dirt Fairways
The fairways were killed at the end of last season. Should have a note on golfnow stating that the course is in terrible shape and that there was not much grass mostly dirt for fairways. Why do you not post adverse conditions like this? Its not like its aerification (which you do post) but that the fairways will not be playable for at least a year.
AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the worst golf experience I have evr had! Tee boxes needed attention. Fairways had large swaths of 30-40 yards with NO grass at all, just dirt. They didn't even bother to blow the leaves off the fairways resulting in alots of time looking for balls IN THE FAIRWAY!. Guy at the front desk had the nerve to say it was a 90 degree rule day. REALLY?
Nice layout and greens
Nice day and the course greens were in good shape. Course needs cart path paving and repaving. Terrain is washed out and rugged on and around fairways. Overpriced for conditions.
Nice course, but the fairways are in need of work.
The value for price to play is great, but the fairways are in need of extensive work. Too many bare patches and the ground is extremely hard. I nearly broke my wrist on the hard , compacted, bare fairways. I won't play there again until the fairways are repaired.
bad course
I heard a lot of great things about this course. I was surprised to see it in such bad shape after other friends talked so highly about this course. It's bad when you have to "FIND" grass to hit out of the fairway.. The greens were fair, no crab grass or dirt spots..
