Absolutely great course, excellent value
Kings Mountain is an hour away from me and totally worth the ride. Course is in great shape, the fairways are like carpet and the greens are running great. It’s a great layout for a hilly course. There are a number of blind tee shots so look ahead if unsure. The people who work here are very nice, it’s just such a nice place to visit. Attached restaurant has good food as well. If I lived closer I’d join. If I could only figure out how to play 15 I’d be happy. Tough hole. I try to get here at least once per year. Very enjoyable place all around.
First time playing this course.
Some blind shots made it a little tough for my skill level. However, I enjoyed it.
Clueless
I used to be a member at this course. I canceled my membership because i was chased down by someone from the pro shop when i tried to go around some extremely extremely oh did i say extremely slow people by going to #10 so i could actually enjoy my day. He told me i wasn't allowed to do that. I decided to give it another shot after two years. Me and a friend played the front 9 and were enjoying ourselves. When we got to 10 we sat and waited 20 minutes on the three foursome that they let start on #10. Take my advice... if you aren't one of their very very old and extremely slow walking old members your money isn't good at this course. You do not matter to them at all.
Affordable and Fun Layout
Kings Mtn CC is a great venue. The front and back are very different layouts and provide some challenging holes. The greens were in good shape and fairways were nice to play from. Rough isnt terrible and can play from it. Good Jr rate for the kids and a nice setup for the 19th hole.
Enjoying North Carolina
First off let me say this.....My tee time was at 12:10pm. I showed up at 11:30am and the pro shop gentleman let me on right away. Love that! There is no driving range, which can usually be a problem for me because I need to warm up but I have been playing well so it wasn't a big deal. There was a chipping and putting area next to the first hole so I hit that for 10 minutes and then I was off and running. The course is a tail of two sides. The front 9 was wide open, and the back 9 was tight. I loved that. I shot 10 over and loved the entire course. The conditions were nice, the fairway were pure. The greens were fast, which I love. I would recommend this course to anyone. I heard that it might be slow but the guys let me play though. No problems.
Great course!
Fun course while also challenging. Highly recommended for sure
Great Layout
I love the layout of this course. It is absolutely as advertised by the description given from GolfNow. The front 9 is wide open and then the back 9 is very challenging. Alot of slope and elevation changes. Super challenging but VERY well taken care of course.
Lots of fun blind shots, very open and great greens
This course was super open which was nice to as someone who can spray the ball all over from the tee box. It also had a lot of blind shots which were fun and challenging. The pace of play was okay until the 15th whole which was super challenging and where we had to wait 30 mins just to tee off and had a pile of 3 different groups waiting to hit at one point. Aside from that, great course and value. Would definitely recommend.
