Friendly staff and easily accessible
Played for 1st time and was much better than I expected. Greens were pretty slow but in good shape. Play was slow but the course was fair and nice selection of shot making.
VERY OLD COURSE AND LAYOUT
Terrible green designs from 1959 too much back to front slope and undulation with weird weird humps!!🦨
Super nice people
Not bad little over priced considering fairways have a ton of weeds. But people were very nice and course had over all GREAT ENERGY will play again most likey!
Great price for this course
I played with 3 great guys who had played here before. They helped me with there course knowledge. The greens were great with perfect speed for public golf. Will definately go back and play it again.
Has come a long way
If you havent played Spring Lake recently you need to give it another try. They have done a lot of improvements from 2 years ago. The tee boxes are much improved. The fairway is not longer a pasture. The greens are plush and roll pretty good. Most of the cart paths have been repaired. The irrigation is up and running, which is the main reason for the better play. The course is the best I have seen it in years! If the greens rolled just a little faster there would be no reason to leave York to play a round.
Great Course!
This isn’t your dad’s Springlake. The first time I played here, I would have given it 3 stars and agreed with the cow pasture comments. However in the past few years there has been major revitalization. The care and upkeep is visible. This is without a doubt the best course around for the cost.
Spring lake
Course in good shape as always. But they had kids tournament going on and “closed front 9 for maintenance “ so had to play back twice, which was ok but had I not booked on golf now I wouldn’t have played today. Golf now should have refunds for stuff like that.
Pleasant surprise!
A little slow but we played on a Saturday. The course was much better than expected and the staff were very friendly at check-in.
Interesting Course
Play Spring Lake with A 9 o’clock teetime. Ended up teeing off around 925 due to the backups. Front 9 was a little bit slower And the back 9 Pace was good. Overall, the course, is pretty good, greens were good, price is good. Definitely will play again
Slow greens
Greens slow and far from paths lots of walking in 95 degrees and 3 water stations empty and no cart person. The greens where airrated recently and still growing in. The course has no yardage markers in fairways only faded red, white and blue on pathways.
Course amenities
95 degress today 3 water stations empty no cart person on course. The greens are slow air rated within last month. The course has some really nice holes The downfall is the greens are far from carpets so alot of walking.
Nice course
It was a good course to play did not know they just punched all the greens so putting was worthless ball just bounced around
Good value
Good value. Play was on time finished in a little over 3 hours. Course was in good condition. They are making some improvements which will make it even better.
Greens are fantastic!
Greens are in the best shape I've ever seen them at Spring Lake. Kudos to the staff and grounds crew.
As always, I enjoy my visits to the course. It's a little bit of a ride for me. If you've never played here before, the front side plays a lot different than the back.
A couple of greens on the front have some magnificent false fronts. Come up short and you might use a different adjective than "magnificent." Use an extra club on hole 2 and hole 7.
I hope the course staff doesn't mind me saying this, but this is a blue collar course in all the best ways. Nothing stuffy or pretentious. Very reasonable rates. Inexpensive clubhouse snacks. Great conversations in the clubhouse with friendly staff and regulars.
Best of all I enjoy the layout, even hole 17 which always eats my lunch. I will be back.
