This is a well-conceived, challenging, yet playable course, with a good reputation among local golfers.

Water comes into play on quite a few holes. The fairways are relatively wide, but it will help to play your shot carefully. A few bunkers lurk in the fairways, ready to create trouble. There are also some greens that require well-placed shots over water from uneven lies. Overall, this is a well thought out, fun and thoroughly worthwhile course.

Peter Tufts, (the gentleman who designed the course), was the godson of Donald Ross and the Ross influence is obvious throughout.

Great course with amazing staff

We arrived early to practice at the driving range. We talked to the staff inside the club house for about ten minutes. They were funny, polite, helpful, and seemed to love their jobs. It was very refreshing and made our experience there that much better. The course was in great condition. We will certainly go back.

Definite Replay

Fairways were dormant, greens were terrific, weather was great. Long fairways, often needed 3 shots to reach green. Nice homes line the fairways with ample buffer zone. Would definitely play again.

picturesque course

Played in the 50.s so the course played a bit
longer than normal. The group enjoyed the greens
as was the first course played that hadn't been
aerated recently.

Great layout!

Played in mid March so the fairways are still dormant, but still a great experience. The greens were really small, and I would give the course 5 stars if they were just a little bit larger. They puuted beautifully.

Long Day

Waited on every shot from the first tee. Could use a ranger to keep things moving. Cart paths were in terrible condition and since course was wet we tried to stay on paths as much as possible. Greens were very good but fast. Overall condition was good considering the wet weather, but probably not worth what we paid.

Course is very enjoyable!

First time playing this course and was well pleased! The fairways were dormant but still in good shape, greens were excellent! You want to stay below the hole for sure. Staff was very friendly. Played white tees but played longer than the 6100 listed because of the elevation changes. I cannot wait for it to "green up", definitely going back!

One of the absolutely best courses in the state

I have had the pleasure of playing this course many times. The greens, tees, and fairways are always beautiful. Water on 9 holes. Many elevation changes sufficient to adjust club selection. Strategically placed bunkers, doglegs, but fair width of most fairways. Once you play this course, you will want to return for another round.

Great shape

I cannot seem to enjoy a round of golf if the greens aren't in good shape. Not only were they in good shape and healthy, they were quick, which is always a plus for me. To find greens like this, you typically have to pay more. This is a hidden gem. It will be on our golf trips in the future.

Fast, true greens!

I played this course when I was at my parents house for Xmas with my dad. Course was wet and there was a chill in the air-normal for the time of year. The fairways weren't over seeded so the course looked similar to Mn courses in the late fall/early spring. Super nice staff person working. Greens rolled true and fast-lots of subtle breaks-challenging hole placements. Fairways were generous, lots of elevation changes, bunkers and water. I will definitely play again when I come back in the spring!

Great Track

One of the best golf courses in the Sandhills. You hit almost every club in the bag, Forces you to think your way around the course. The only negative that I ever have about this course is that the pace of play is slow. I played with my son and we ran into a foursome and waited every shot for four holes. Finally we just drove around them, skipped a hole. There were 4 holes open in front of them and when we passed, they looked at us as if we had committed an act of treason.

Wow!!!

When we arrived and the guard told us our group was ahead and waiting for us, I knew this was no ordinary golf course. The man who assisted with our bags was as nice as you could be. The gentleman in the pro shop was friendly as well. He even took pictures of our group for us. And then there was the practice putting green. Can you say "FAST"? We putted and watched the ball roll and roll and roll on past the hole. When the greens dried out and as time went on, they were easier to putt on. The course was absolutely fantastic. If you were off the course (and I was a few times) you had to battle with trees and some taller grass. I will say I did not get into any water and I didn't get into any sand traps all day. Praise the Lord!!! Out of the 3 courses we played, Seven Lakes was the nicest course. We have already set our time when we will go back. I'm hooked.
