7 Lakes Golf Club

About
This is a well-conceived, challenging, yet playable course, with a good reputation among local golfers.
Water comes into play on quite a few holes. The fairways are relatively wide, but it will help to play your shot carefully. A few bunkers lurk in the fairways, ready to create trouble. There are also some greens that require well-placed shots over water from uneven lies. Overall, this is a well thought out, fun and thoroughly worthwhile course.
Peter Tufts, (the gentleman who designed the course), was the godson of Donald Ross and the Ross influence is obvious throughout.

Awesome layout
This course is in great condition best fairways and greens I've played on for a while
Hidden gem
This course is hidden amoung all the heavy weights in the Pinehurst area, but can hold it's own with any of them. Tiny greens, lots of elevation changes, great variety of holes and shots - this course has it all. Has the feel of going back in time to a simpler, more traditional layout that requires shotaking to score well, but is fun for all levels. And the price can't be beat - $60 here or +$225 at Pinehurst or +$200 for Pine Needles - it's a no brainer. We wil be back.
Beautiful layout & Ecxellent course conditions!
Have been wanting to play this course and finally did today. Was NOT disappointed! Best value for great golf in the NC Piedmont! Will play it again and again very soon.
Beats any Pinehurst Course any day of the week!
This course is outstanding. The greens and fairways are the best I have ever seen them. The staff is also equally as outstanding. I would come back even if the course was in poor condition simply based on how great the staff continues to treat its customers. If you are in the Sandhills and don't play this course, you missed out on the best! P.S. Bring some food to feed the turtles on hole 10 when you tee off from the island!!!!
seven lakes
Excellent course & staff. Will play again when in the Pinehurst area.
Course and Staff Excellent
I was in a group of 10 golfers that showed up in the rain at the course. Chris, Mike, and the rest of the staff at the club and in the restaurant were outstanding in their treatment to us. It set the tone after the rain tapered down to allow us to play. Even with all the rain, the course played incredibly well and the greens were the best we played the whole weekend long. We already plan on going back next year for the whole day. We had to best of both worlds, a great course to play on and an exceptional staff to deal with.
Play Play Play
Where do I start, I have played Seven Lakes several times, it is one of my favorite in the Pinehurst area. The course is always in top shape, hitting off the fairway is like hitting off a carpet, I feel bad sometimes when I do take a divot. It's a nice test for the average golfer like me, you have holes that play up hill, and down hill but rarely do you have a side hill shot. The first par 3 is a nice challenge up hill about 160 yards and then the next one is down hill about a buck and a quarter. Then the next one you think is a nice easy 100 yards from the senior tees but if the pin is in the back the secret is to play it off the hill on the right. There is just enough water holes to make it interesting, but they do have bale out areas if you want to chicken out. Every person that I have come in contact with that works out there is always pleasant. It's nice to play a course were they have a great attitude no matter who you are. If I have any negative thing to say about the course is us the player, the greens run great so please help the greens keeper job ( and the guys behind you ) please fix your divots and that goes for any course.
VERY NICE
After playing all around North and South Carolina, this might have been the best value and I did love the speed of the greens even after three days of rain well done thank you JIM H PA
Great course
Entire course was in excellent condition. Greens were true and fairways were in great condition. Many seniors playing which slowed play a bit but I finished in just over 3 hours.
7 LAKES - EXCELLENT
My wife and I enjoyed the day, weather was great and the course was in excellent condition. We will return here - probably the next time we are in NC.
Awesome course
This course is in absolutely amazing shape. I would recommend seven lakes to anybody. Great, fun and all around terrific course!!
A winner!
Third time playing at Seven Lakes and have found the course to be in excellent condition each time. Good variety of holes. Greens are quick and true. Great value. Stay below the hole!
Great Course
Love this course. Great condition all around. Fairways are like carpets. Rough is thick but playable. Greens have nice speed and roll true. Drive about 1.25 hour just to play this course.
Been a while
Haven't played 7 Lakes in over a year. Stumbled over a nice price on Golf Now and took it. This course is always in real good shape. Course ratings suits my game and each hole is different enough from the last to make it interesting.
Staff is alert and friendly and even though it was busy on this day, they didn't forget us and got us paired up nicely with someone else and out on time. Restaurant closed only downer.
Excellent Course/Condition - Staff very helpful
Seven Lakes is very accommodating. They want your business. Course condition is excellent. The staff is friendly. Rates are excellent. We play quite often, sometimes on short notice. Mike, the general manager, is very helpful and generous.
Seven Lakes County Club golf course always satisfies the golfing outing in all of us..
Pinehurst area GEM
I play with a group of 16 weekly. We play all around the Fayetteville and Pinehurst areas. We played Seven Lakes for the first tome today and the entire group agrred it was the nicest place we have played in years. The greens were true and very fast (especially from above the hole). the fairways were in excellent condition with no bare spots all the way to the cart path. The layout is challenging and interesting. It asks for cuts and draws. Big hitters can reach some par 5's but there is always a risk. Some holes are beautifully picturesque. The staff was friendly, the pace of play was quick, and we will be returning soon.
Seven Lakes - Great Course
The course was awesome. Great shape. Staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend playing this course.
Excellent golf course
This course has been the gem of the Sandhills for years. I have played here at all times of the year and it is always in great condition. It is in perfect shape right now and I highly recommend putting this course in as one of the courses you will play on your trip to Pinehurst.
Great Value for a Pinehurst course!
Added this course to our regular trip to the Pinehurst trip for my annual group trip. Boy were we happy with it. All around great condition from tee box to greens. Will for sure be back next trip!
