Great Round on a great course
The reason I travel out to Greystone is the fantastic layout and great condition of the course. Thoroughly enjoyed the round today out there. Greens are peppered but roll pretty true. Thanks for a great round.
Best course for the money
The staff is great, the course is challenging , and the design in unique. This is by far the best value course available within 100 miles of Nashville.
I love Greystone
Greystone is the best public course in Middle Tennessee. I quit my private club, in my neighborhood, because I'd rather drive 40 minutes to Dixon to play Greystone.
Still a top public course
Greens are in pretty bad shape. But that’s to be expected this time of year, given the heat and amount of play this course sees. I’m not a super, I’m sure they’re doing their best, but the greens are sooooo soft. It’s not even the ball marks people don’t fix. It’s the spike damage from peoples feet walking on such soft greens. If there’s a way to firm them up to make them more durable, that would really help. Rest of the course is pristine, as usual. Still one of the best public courses in Nashville area.
Greystone GC
Conditions great all around, greens a little beat up but they were soft so understandable due to alot of play. A links course that is pretty wide but has some angles on most tees shots where trouble waits in the form of long grass mainly, if in there you'll be ;lucky to find your ball, I didn't find one, fairways like carpet and greens putted nicely medium speed, played the blue tees with 5 penalty shots, 2 three putts, no birdies but I scared the hole many times, blazed in with a 84, the penalty shots were basically all bad decisions. Recommend.
Great golf for the price
Scenic views of rolling hills and Grey Stone (hence the name). Lots of good risk reward on this course with very receptive greens that roll fairly true. My only “complaint” would be that I hoped for a faster rolling green. Definitely will be back.
Not the greatest showing
Really bad pace of play. I stopped playing after 9 because I was on pace for a 6 hour round. Range didn’t have any balls when I went down there so I walked on the range to pick up ones that were already it. Course is in good condition.
Great Layout
Always love playing this course. Definitely the best course for the pricing. Greens are really soft and extremely receptive, but they are a tad bumpy in places because not everyone repairs their ball marks. And some time pace of play is very bad (people not letting you play through). Other than that you can’t ask for much more out of a course for the price they’re asking.
Definitely recommend.
Well worth the drive
Course was in fantastic shape Greens were quick. Was only about a 30 minute drive from North Nashville. I’ve played both Hermitage courses, Gaylord. I think this is my favorite. (Followed by Presidents @ hermitage). But it’s less than half the price
Some of the truest greens I have played on this year very comfortable to put and play this course with as much challenge you want you must keep it in the short grass on many holes or it can get you lovely course to play
Country Gem
Visiting Middle Tennessee from NJ and picked up a Sunday morning time. Layout was fantastic, you can see how difficult it would be for a high end amateur tournament or local professional event from the tips with the rough grown out and greens rolled and firm. Challenging tee shots and strategic bunker placement make driving the ball well a necessity. Greens were smooth, bunkers well maintained. Only issue was pace of play, no one monitoring the pace on course and the group in front of us was playing way too far back for their ability which was not enjoyable for us nor them I imagine. Play the correct tees for your ability and it is definitely worth the drive from Franklin.
Two player outing
Great course on a hot day. Plenty of good open fairways and a few tight holes. Paired up with another twosome and the pace of play was just fine. Didn’t see another group (on the 4th of July!) until the 18th hole. Definitely one of my favorite courses in middle TN.
Hello Jacob, thank you for reviewing the course. We would like to apologize for the delay of play during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the course conditions to be good during your game. Thank you for playing GreyStone Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
