About
The Legacy Golf Course is one of Robertson County's must-play courses. Opened in 1996, it is not as old as some other courses in the area but the designer, Raymond Floyd, took advantage of the existing mature woodlands spread throughout the lush, rolling hills. At 6,755 yards, the course is seemingly short but it is narrow, and be prepared to face troublesome hazards almost everywhere. It is notorious for making balls from even the most slightly errant shots disappear. It is a tough but fair challenge. The golf course starts with a tricky par 5 with a bunker on the right followed by a par 4 that requires a 200-yard carry or you'll surely be faced with trouble. The back nine at Legacy G.C. is slightly less difficult but there are still plenty of hazards as well as several blind shots.

Good course
Good course to play. Fairways and greens look great and play great. Good course for beginner players and those with a bit of experience. Price wasn’t bad either if you catch them at the right time.

Beautiful. Simple. Fun
The pace was a little pushy from the start but after the first hole or two it was fine. I shoot 100 with out knowing my handicap so I’m not very good but it was still fine pace wise. The course is beautiful and easy to play. Worth the money and the drive from downtown Nashville!

The Legacy
Hidden gem. I live south of Nashville and it’s 100% worth the hour drive. The greens keeping crew is amazing, way ahead of other courses in the area for this time of year. Staff was like visiting home. Just go.

Not worth the drive
Visited Nashville and wanted to get a few rounds in. Came up to Legacy and its not worth the 40 min (each way) from downtown Nashville. Tee boxes were rock hard, fairways were very hard / lacked grass. The greens were decent. Front 9 wasnt anything special, but the back 9 had some decent hole layouts. Practice area was in rough shape and the carts were old/gas powered and slow.

Great public course terrible pace of play
It is very difficult to find a public course this well maintained year round. My complaint is the pace of play is always terrible at this course I could easily finish a round with no one in front of me in less than 3 hours on this course, however I guarantee no matter what time or day of week your round will be minimum 5 hours here and it is very frustrating.

Easily could be a 5
The Legacy was an awesome course. It was very well kept, greens were in good shape, fairways were nice, nice hole designs, and many other great concepts. I truly would give it a 4.5 out of 5 if that was an option, but the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was because it felt like all 18 holes had the same Green structure.. and what I mean by that is around the green there was huge mounds. The mounds were sometimes bunkers, sometimes empty bunkers, and sometimes hills. It added a level of difficulty and made the greens less forgiving. If you want a course to be as hard as possible then maybe this is good for you, but I felt like there could have been a few holes that didn’t have this concept.. like every single hole had it. Truly a great course for the value.

Nice Course
Been trying to knock most of the courses out in the Nashville area and this is a nice place! Thought it was a little overrated for what I’ve read but definitely a nice track.
Everything was in good condition for the time of year, pace of play was a little slow but is probably to be expected this time
of the year on as warm day on a Sunday afternoon.

Really enjoy the course
Staff is friendly and the course was in great shape. Only issue was we caught a group that was unbelievably slow. It’s ok if you can play through, but by the 10th hole we had 2 groups on the tee box waiting and by the 12th hole 3 groups. Pace is normally good, but this was over the top.

Great course, Needs Starter
Legacy always delivers. Still one of the best courses in middle-Tennessee for various reasons. Greens are always in great shape, bunkers are nice, course design is fun and challenging.
Pace of play is frequently an issue, however. The most consistent problem at Legacy is that they don't care to enforce tee times. There's no starter that dictates who goes out with whom and when. Yesterday I was literally told to "just go out whenever" and that the other people in my time slot had "probably gone off already". When a course isnt busy that might be ok, but once you run up on whomever is in front of you it becomes a log jam. If you're in a foursome you'll most likely have a single run up on to you. If you let that single play through, a group of two will be right behind you next. The pace of play issues would be drastically better if they would just consolidate individuals and groups of less than 4 and create as many foursomes as possible.
Lastly, the range is always an anarchaic war zone. Theres no ropes or any sort of guidelines, anyone just hits anywhere, so theres more divots than grass, and the range balls are some of the worst in the whole state. The course itself is fantastic, so its tolerable, but if they really wanted to up the class of the club in general, they would take better care of the range and invest in some decent range balls. Its like they get their range balls out of the water hazards.
But Legacy is always a great course. Couple tweaks here and there and it would be an elite public track in Middle Tennessee.
