The Legacy
About
The Legacy Golf Course is one of Robertson County's must-play courses. Opened in 1996, it is not as old as some other courses in the area but the designer, Raymond Floyd, took advantage of the existing mature woodlands spread throughout the lush, rolling hills. At 6,755 yards, the course is seemingly short but it is narrow, and be prepared to face troublesome hazards almost everywhere. It is notorious for making balls from even the most slightly errant shots disappear. It is a tough but fair challenge. The golf course starts with a tricky par 5 with a bunker on the right followed by a par 4 that requires a 200-yard carry or you'll surely be faced with trouble. The back nine at Legacy G.C. is slightly less difficult but there are still plenty of hazards as well as several blind shots.

Loved this course
Played here for the first time heard great things about it and was not disappointed. Due to lack of rain it was hard and the fairways had a lot of rollout so a good tee shot was punished the greens were smooth fast but fair . The holes were challenging and I loved the elevation changes quite the contrast to what I play in Florida. The gentleman in the pro shop was great pace of play was good I will definitely be back to play next time I visit
Decent Course with Some Issues
Overall, the course is a decent test of golf. I felt the staff and price were very good. The greens were pretty solid, but the fairways, tee boxes, and rough weren’t as nice. For an afternoon round playing by myself, I felt the pace was incredibly slow especially since it wasn’t foursomes in front of me. Mostly 2somes.
So sad
Played Legacy 30 times in the last three years. It's use to be a gem with quick undulating greens and a challenging layout from the back tees. But fellow golfers I'm sorry to report the course is a disaster this year ! After all the construction on the lake on 3 was finally done last season the word was the irrigation issues would've solved . Unfortunately the tees and fairways are rock hard and 30-60%dirt or dead grass that is not going to regrow . Our group broke 60 tees and a hand full more trying to get them in the ground somewhere close to the markers . Fairways are gross. If you don't want to roll your ball or pick it up and find a tuft of grass your screwed. Bunkers had a inch of loose sand on top of the firmest base I've seen, lots of bounce, an explosion shot was out of the question. Greens were ok but super hard , no ball marks all day but any down hill putt and there are many , rolled off the green if you didn't hit the hole! If that wasn't enough they have a new construction project between 11 and 18 clearing the trees and burning them in a huge bonfire just off the 18 fairway. Soon to be a new homes built so years of noise and non golf enhancements on the way! It's April and 80 degrees come summer it will be a dust bowl. We didnt see one employee on the course no watering no water buckets no ranger uggg.It breaks my heart but I won't be back!!
Excellent greens
Once again, The Legacy does not disappoint!!
Course is in very good shape for late Feb., even after a heavy rain the night before. Of course, the fairways are a bit thin due to dormant Bermuda.
The greens were in excellent shape, pretty receptive, very fast and rolled true. These are some of the best designed greens I’ve played, they’re huge and have several excellent pin location opportunities.
Oh I forgot, this is not a boring course! It has tons of elevation, extremely sloped greens, plenty of trouble, and sometimes an opportunity to make a hole-in-one. Sweet!!
Driving range, practice green(same as course with very similar undulations), pro shop, excellent grill w/bevs and a courteous staff.
It’s a must play, and a great money game course with your buddies.
Enjoy your round.
Rough Shape
Course right now is in rough shape. The greens are being kept up pretty well, but fairways and tee boxes are pretty bad, burned out and hardpan. I suppose the dry summer has something to do with it, but the course is showing other signs of management neglect, non-existent tee boxes, broken up cart paths, weeds. This was my first time playing, and unless management brings back conditions, it will be my last.
SRK
Staff super friendly, great layot, holes were fun with some doglegs some elevation, no 2 holes iwere alike,The tees could use some more water, some were rock hard like you really needed a hammer on some overall a very good experience PS you can lose balls here
Amazing
This place is amazing. The day that we played it had rained all morning however by our 1:30 tee time the course was immaculate. The course offers some unique holes with amazing views. The staff were all up best and friendly. Would highly recommend this course for anyone that’s looking for an exceptional round of golf.
hard summer
played here last on july 4th, course was awesome . summer heat and lack of rain has taken a toll. greens were quite soft and rolled well but rest of course was a rock. burnt out fairways, some tee boxes you couldn’t get a tee in the ground.
will be back but it will be awhile.
Good course that needs some TLC
Overall layout was good and challenging for a bogey golfer. The fairways were burnt up and hadn’t been watered so they were hard pan. Forget getting a tee into the ground on the tee boxes! Trash cans were overflowing and hadn’t been emptied in a while. And ball wash stations were mostly dry. Greens were in pretty good shape, thankfully.
Maybe try this course in the spring before it dries out for the summer.
Decent, but wouldn’t play again
The course was in fair condition for the cost. Fairways were rock hard. Greens were in nice condition. No water refills on the course, and considering it was over 90 degrees when I played, I was quite dehydrated, despite having a 2L water bottle. I live 35 mins from the course and won’t be making that drive again. There a several courses of similar value that are much closer and in better condition.
Nice course but not for the price
Overall a nice layout. Course was in solid condition. Few fairways on the front nine could use some work. Greens overall pretty good. They are making some repairs to the greens that need it.
Carts don’t have GPS though you can generally figure it out especially if you have the Bushnell Golf app.
Nobody driving around the course with beverages, snacks, etc. Also no water to drink anywhere on the course.
Course overall nice. Just wouldn’t pay more than $60-$65 given the overall aspect of everything about the course.
Good for a public course
Staff is always friendly. Greens are soft, and a little slow. Many players dont repair their ball marks, which impacts putting some. Biggest issue is lack of irrigation on tee boxes. Rock hard. Bring a small hammer (not joking).
Fairways are very, very dry as well. The course is fun, but improving irrigation would help.
There is NEVER a marshall on the course, so play can grind to a halt with one or two slow groups ahead.
its a decent public course. Don't expect this be Gaylord or Hemitage, but its much cheaper.
It could be awesome
2nd time I've played here. I did the Member for a day (meal, golf, range balls, fees). FYI, the "meal" is only a hotdog.
The course was in playable shape but that was about it. Greens were scruffed up from play, and very very sanded.
It's a narrow course, so keep 'em in play. A good amount of up and down. They had way way way too many twosomes out and the pace of play was abysmal. We left after nine. The clubhouse is in serious need of rennovation. Nice size patio outside. Staff was great. If I'm going that far from Nolensville I'm going Nashville National.
Mgmt. quit bullying customers
My reservation was for a single. I enjoy meeting new golfers and hook up with them regularly. However, for a reservation for 18 holes that included a cart,I want my own cart ? Was forced by manager to bunk up with a stranger which, typically doesn't work out for 4+ hours. I won't be going back as frequently as I would have. Why be so stupid about treating customers like you're so desperate to save petty amounts of money ?? you lose.......
Everything was great with the exception of pace of play and NO WATER COOLERS on the entire course. It was a hot day and hydration was needed.
