Red Wolf Golf Resort
About
There's no doubt Red Wolf Golf Resort is a Texas-themed facility, complete with holes named after the Harrington's bulls (they are providers of bulls for professional rodeos) and a Southwestern-styled clubhouse. As for the golf course, Jay Riviere's design has always been considered a fine layout. Take advantage of the easier front nine by scoring well on the opening holes. No. 9 is the most difficult hole on the course. It shoots through a narrow opening uphill into the sloped fairway. This one is mean -- it was formerly a par 5 -- and requires a long approach over a lake.

Doesn’t look bad in the picture but it is. Luckily there’s been a lot of rain. Give it a couple of weeks in this heat it will all be brown. Photo submitted by u480307563 on 08/06/2024

Basic course
New owners closed the grill and there is no sales.
Previously they had a good selection.
The course is good but the greens have seen better days. They used to be fast but no run about an 8.
Dead spots on some of the greens and pigs have rutted spots around the course. Could be a great course with better management.
Course is headed in the wrong direction. Greens were a lot faster and full, now they are slow and you cannot make a good putt here. Maybe it's that time of year. Okay, will give it about a half of year and see again.

I really love the layout of this course
Whenever I'm in the Houston area I make sure I play this course. I love the layout.
Good value
Payed $26 afternoon course in fairways good most greens were good need a snack bar though liked the layout would play again soon
Layout is amazing, needs a lot of work to even be worth $40.
This course had decent reviews which made me expect to at least be able to complete a full round without to many issues. I arrived at the course and headed straight to the first tee. There weren't many people on the range so assumed the round woulf fly by. I played the first three holes with no problem. As I started to get to holes 4 and 5 i noticed that there was standing water everywhere. This caused millions of mosquitoes to feast on me for the remainder of the round. I arrived at hole five and it was completely stopped. The gentlemen in front of me said this happens often because there is no marshall. From hole 5 to hole 9, it took 1hour and 35minutes. I went to the pro shop to say something and there was no one inside. I decided to grab a beer and lunch to wait it out and the snack shop looked abandoned. I was also told they do not have a liquor license and that i should go grab beer at a local gas station if i wanted it. I would have stayed and finished the round if the greens weren't so horrible, if the drainage was better, and there was a marshall regurgitating pace of play. With 4 groups on the 10th tee box, I decided it wasn't worth it... I left after the ninth hole. Will not be back.
Red Wolf Run still recovering
We played this course early spring, it has some fun and interesting holes to play, but it needs a lot of work to get playable.
I have seen the course in better shape.
The greens on the front side needs some work. The back nine was better. No services offered on course or in the clubhouse. Management needs to get the course and services back to where they were a couple years ago. I still enjoy the course layout. Make the facility worth the trip for us that remember better days at Red Wolf.
RWR Review
Easy process to purchase through GolfNow app.
RWR is laid back Course with some challenging holes.
Nice place
Greens are good, fairways are open.No Red Wolf Grill.Closed for over 6 months.Bring food and a drink.Very poor selection in pro shop of drinks ..
Worth the trip to play
Course was a little soft due to rains the day before. I noticed bunkers had been raked and cared for and staff was caring for course. Greens rolled good despite being very soft and had good speed. This time of year I don't expect great fairways but they were more than adequate. Would definitely recommend playing again.
Nice Layout/ Avg Condition - Good Value
Interesting but very playable layout. Fair condtion but for the what I apid it was great. Greens rolled great - better than they looked. Will come back soon.
Great deal & round...
This course is a great value. The course was in good shape... greens were a little bare, however, rolled true and quick. The sand traps were better than the Tournament Course in the Woodlands, which I played a few weeks back.
The grill was closed for renovations, which was the biggest disappointment. We were informed at check-in that we could bring our own food / drinks / alcohol until the grill reopens. They had soda and some chips for sale, however, I would have liked to have known about the BYOB policy before getting there. The pro shop did offer us the time to go to the store, however we were ready to play.
Great experience and round overall.
