About
There's no doubt Red Wolf Golf Resort is a Texas-themed facility, complete with holes named after the Harrington's bulls (they are providers of bulls for professional rodeos) and a Southwestern-styled clubhouse. As for the golf course, Jay Riviere's design has always been considered a fine layout. Take advantage of the easier front nine by scoring well on the opening holes. No. 9 is the most difficult hole on the course. It shoots through a narrow opening uphill into the sloped fairway. This one is mean -- it was formerly a par 5 -- and requires a long approach over a lake.

Great Course
Some of the best greens seen all year. Good layout and very peaceful course in the woods. Only negative is the distance from town and the current bar/grill that is being renovated. Will play again!
Tee boxes needs grass
Punched holes should be sand filled for a better roll. Add or spray Bermuda grass on tee boxes

Not a particularly tough course but can be a problem if your tee shots are not on the fairway. Fairways are maturing and grass filling in. Many of the tee boxes are very hard and needing more water.

Fairways and Greens in Excellent Shape
Red Wolf Run, Sanctuary, Lake Houston whatever you want to call it, was in great shape yesterday. The greens showed signs of healing from being punched a week or two back, but they were rolling well and looked great. I'll certainly go back. The bunkers and tee boxes were in great shape too. I played well except for an unfortunate triple on the first par 3 on the front side after coming off of birdie, par on the first two holes.
Bugs and High Grass
The ruff was very high and the grass was over a foot high. Hard to find ball. The greens were in need of repair. Very buggy
Nice Greens
The greens on this course are very nice compared to a lot of the greens I have been playing in and around houston. The fairways are in good shape .
Greens
Course is tight and you must hit it straight. The Green are in better shape than a lot of the courses in the area.

Nice Course
Played here for the 2nd time. Course was in good condition. It has some of the best sandtraps I've seen (unfortunately I had to play out of 3 of them). I also like that they have gas carts, that's a huge plus in my book!
They are redoing some tee boxes so we had to play from the red on 2 or 3 holes (we were playin from the whites).
Overall it was a good time on a nice course. If it wasn't so far, I'd play here more often.
Rough Greens
I guess I should not have expected much more than what I got for $21 a person on a Saturday afternoon. The tee boxes were in terrible shape and the greens were even worse. Pace of play was so slow. Did not see one marshall the entire round. I will not be going back.
first time out in a while
used to play out here all the time until conditions went south. had heard people talking about how nice of shape it was in for the last few months. I was fairly disappointed. green fees had gone up about $10 from when I used to play. Fairways were in better shape. still hard but less hard pan. most disappointed in greens. lots of bald spots and very bouncy. was a nice day and still a great layout. had a good time but for the price paid, it was in lesser shape than other local courses.
Even with recent Rain the condition was good
We had an internet hot deal. The coarse was in great shape with all the recent rains only two holes were cart path only. Had a great time!!!

Red Wolf does not have a superintendent. A hard working group of four does a great job with the little they have to work with.
