Red Wolf Golf Resort

I usually love this course. Still do, but here were a few things from my play last Thursday. The fairways seem to have suffered a bit from the winter. The pro shop staff were great. Still no 9-hole rate, even though this is starting to become pretty common today. The rates went up a bit over the winter, but this is still a very good course for the money. I had an 8 am tee time, but the grill was still closed. The grounds crew did not come out to change holes until 9 am. And the guy followed me from green to green, changing holes and leaving the mower running while I was putting.

All in all, a lot of complaining for a pretty nice quickie round of golf. I'm always happy to get one in and this is a pretty good place to do it.

Played on a Tuesday, somewhat of a crowd. Found out Tuesdays and Thursdays are $1 beer and hot dogs. The greens were very good but slow - no bare spots. The fairways were hard - needed some water. That being said, I cannot remember getting that much roll both my playing partner and I reached a couple of the par 5s in two and both of us got eagles. If you drive the ball straight, it really shortens the course. The price was very good and it was a lot of fun.

Course is in goog condition, finally worth the money now

I've played this course several times and on this day the greens were in very good condition. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I played as a single and was able to complete my round in just over three hours. I traveled 45 minutes across town to get to the course and was able to complete my round and return home faster than I can do in the Cypress area.

the course was in horrible shape. I have played here before and it was a great bargain but now just cheap and everything is run down. Pay extra and play something nice.

I really enjoy this course. It's quiet and secluded. I'd just like to see them water more to soften up some of the fairways.

Greens are very sandy. Hard to putt on. Played in 4hrs.

Course conditions have greatly improved. In great shape for this time of year. Have played this course for several years and in best shape ever.

Fairways were very poor including many bare spots in the middle. Repeatedly had to lift and place just to find suitable grass.
Slow pace due to lack of marshals on course. Slow players reluctant to let me pass through despite numerous balls hit from a single position.

Only bright spot other than weather were the greens which were excellent!

I have played this course in the past many times but have not seen the fairways as poor as they are now. As such I would not recommend it for a great place to play despite the greens.
Please correct the fairways and pace as this course is the closest to my home and I would love to play there regularly.

liked the layout, but greens were just airated, to many holes had some hardpan on the fairways and it was a little pricey for the track.

I played back when it was Lake Houston, was not impressed at that time now its a good place. Fair price, course is challenging and you don't see other golfers good pace of play. Marshals are making rounds keeping the pace of play moving.

If you don't like playing on grass this is the coarse for you. I know it was march but my home in ohio has more grass than these fairways and the greens were not maintain at all.

Friendly Staff and course was in ok condition considering winter weather this year

First played this course in 1981, but first time in a while since I've been out there (it's a long drive from most places in Houston). Clubhouse has been around for at least 10 years, but it's functional and nice. The original clubhouse was awful. The course is in better condition now than anytime I've played it. The par 3s are the most scenic I've seen in Houston. Greens are a little above average. This would be a very good course if they had country-club fairways. As it is, it's hard to find a good lie even in the middle. A small gripe: The yardages on No. 9 and No. 10 are not even close to as advertised on the scorecard. Never have been. The holes are about 50 yards longer. Don't know why, but if you play enough golf you get a feel for yardage and those aren't right. Otherwise, a delightful day and course to play if you can stay out of the trees.

Fairways are spotty with grass. As long as you're in the middle you'll probably be okay. Left or right edge and you're hitting off dirt. No rough to speak of. Tee boxes were atrocious. Greens and bunkers were in pretty good shape.

Interesting layout with several elevation changes. Overall a decent course for the $$$.

Course has some nice holes and even though the weather was poor the greens were rather speedy. I would recommend playing course if you like a lot of dog legs and some well placed bunkers.

Challengeing course, fun, needs to clean up tee/greens more

I had not heard of this course until a friend suggested our playing it, and I can't wait to return! Great layout: challenging but not so much that the average golfer can't score, varied terrain, big, fast greens, and a very friendly staff.
