Chippewa Golf Club
About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Please play
This course was amazing, great layout, excellent condition tee to green. Do yourself a favor and book a tee time at Chippewa, you won't be disappointed.
Perfect course. Have improved San traps. Greens are always good. Friendly and accommodating staff.
Love this course
My appointment to have my car repaired was cancelled last minute so decided to play a round of golf instead...sure glad I did. I was running late got lost WITH GPS, called the course, staff could not have been more helpful. Arrived at the course late. Starter was very helpful, he took the time to give me a run down of the course and sent me off the back nine. Conditions were country club like. Greens although difficult were true and ball rolled nicely. Fairways were plush. This is a challenging course and very enjoyable to play. For all the right reasons I will be back to play...price, staff, conditions of course etc etc.
Just what I expected
It was what I expected. The fairway was nicely cut. The front was a little less difficult than the back . My overall experience was nice and well worth the wait.
Play Pace
Course is always groomed beautifully. However, I think all courses should emphasize that all players play "READY GOLF".
One of the best
For my money, Chippewa is always one of the best public courses in northeast Ohio. The course conditions, fairways and greens, are as good as most private courses in the area. However, if the course is crowded, you have to expect several delays on the back nine. The difficulty of the "triangle" slows the pace considerably.
Great course but...
I've played Chippewa many times and each time I remember why it's one of my favorite places to play in NEO. Aside from the sand traps (which should have been renamed as 'raked dirt areas') the course was immaculate. As with so many other reviews though, the pace of play was horrendous. The front nine usually plays pretty quickly and if you've played there before you know the back nine always takes about 2+20. Today when the front took 2 hours and thirty minutes to play we realized that it was going to be a minimum five hour round - ON A MONDAY MORNING - UGH! We could see a couple of groups ahead that were slowing everything down and you'd have thought they were playing at the Bridgestone tournament.
We asked the starter at the turn about how the backnwas playing and he had the decency to tell us it was really backed up but offered to let play the front again since it was wide open. We elected to play the front (one hour and twenty five minutes - one hour less the first time around) and called it a day.
It wasn't the course's fault but certainly detracted from the anticipation of playing here. I'll be back for sure but I guess I'm going to have to show up first thing in the morning.
18 in under 3 hours!!!
Pace of play was outstanding. As a twosome, it took us just under 3 hours. Course was semi-crowded, but we zoomed around. Definitely will play here again
Beautiful course, but I can' t score on the Bermuda Triangle.
Beautiful day, course in great shape. I play the front well. Bit the back 3 holes are too much for me.
But I will continue to try.
Great local course
Great staff and course, always in good shape. Beware of the Bermuda triangle, holes 14, 15 and 16 can kill a good round if your not careful. Play these holes smart and you will have a great time.
Treasure of mid-Ohio
Our threesome played the round in 3 hours 40 minutes. There was no waiting.. pace of play was excellent. The course is in fabulous condition. The friendly staff was helpful, but not hovering. This is a course that gives you a chance to use every club in your bag...
Bill from Akron
Chippewa is a great track. The greens are pristine and the layout is challenging but enjoyable. The devils triangle is a unique test of course management and skill. The staff is friendly and supportive. I truly appreciate and enjoy playing this course and strongly recommend it.
Good memories
This was my home course in high school and I haven't played it for probably ten years. Everything was in tip top shape today as it was then. Shooting 78 didn't hurt either! Greens ran true and course played well even with a pretty strong wind on some holes (especially in the Bermuda Triangle).
COURSE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. BACK 9 WAS BUSY, SO THEY LET US PLAY THE FRONT AGAIN. VERY ACCOMADATING.
Ridiculous
Playing as a single with a twosome in front of me make the turn and a new foursome appears that did not play the front starter said that they were supposed to meet their friends on number 10 t and he told him just to go ahead it took these beginners 20 minutes to play number 10 what a joke
