Chippewa Golf Club
About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Can’t wait to play next summer
Just a great and challenging layout. Great shape for this time of year. Would love to play it next summer.
$65 in November is a JOKE
They punched the greens late in the season, I get it. I thought that since they would still be charging $65, which they do in peak season, that they would be okay. No, they were not. Easily the worst greens I've played on in 2024. Complete and total Plinko. The pace was then atrocious, it was nearly a 6 HOUR ROUND. Not worth playing at the end of the season.
Well Maintained
With dry conditions in Sept.course still had green tee boxes, fairways and putting surfaces
fav local course was still great
The course is in better shape than my private club's course nearby. I love the elevation changes and the course design. My 3-women, 1-man- group struggled in the "Bermuda Triangle" which slowed players behind us. Overall, I love the course. The course was in excellent shape, although some of the rough was very dry. (area draught conditions). The greens run way more consistently than my private country club's greens do.
Always lush
Tee boxes are always lush. Fairways are perfectly kept. Leaves were not an issue bc they keep the course so clear. Great 9 for only$23 on a Sunday afternoon.. With Golf Now you didn't even have to go in the Clubhouse. If I had tho no complaints. Bar and amenities are fantastic.
My favorite course
I’m lucky enough to live 10 minutes from Chippewa. Conditions are always fantastic. Friendly staff. True greens. Some very challenging holes
Very enjoyable day
Coming from Medina county, this is one of the nicest public courses within 30 minutes. I especially appreciate that they manage groups and tee times so that things flowed very nicely on the Monday we went (it was fully booked). Slightly under 4.5 hours - zero lost balls.
Public course rankings
This course is not difficult and not designed well enough to be number 1 best public course in ohio on any rankings list I just think people get amenities and staff friendliness with how well a course is, really just don’t want anyone to get confused and play this course over a course like The Virtues or even Boulder Creek, it’s a good course not to be rated what I see on some lists.
Overrated for the ratings I’ve seen
This course design really isn’t flawless and maybe it gets its recognition because of how short i feel it can play sometime. As this course isn’t in anyway a bad course but definitely ranking it compared to a goodpark I would definitely just go to go to a goodpark mainly due to how it plays it’s not very difficult.
Complete Joke
Day was a complete joke. My 3 some and I had to leave after hole 13, waited on every single tee box for at least ten minutes. Multiple groups waiting in line on tee boxes. Worst day of golf ive ever experienced. Will never come back
Well worth the money
Course is in great condition. Staff is friendly.
I Recommend this course, one of the best around.
