The 14th - a nice short par 3 with a tricky green. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019

The 17th - probably my favorite hole on the course. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019
Rough too thick
Several great drives just off the fairway and lost the balls in the extremely long rough - unless you were right on top of your ball it was gone. And when i was lucky enough to find it, the thickness of the grass drastically altered the power of the shot. Definitely needs to be shorter.
Slow pace of play
The last few times I've played here during the week, the pace of play has been slow. It's been an average of 4.5 hour round each time on a weekday. I've seen the marshal drive around but it doesn't move anything. Tee times should be spaced out a little bit more than 10 mins. now that the sport has grown tremendously the last couple years. But I guess, all they care about is the money. I really like this course but I won't be playing here for a while.
Great deal but slow pace
Great deal but slow pace of play. Lots of walkers that should use a cart.
Greens were nice.
If you are a 20 handicap or less you should play from the blacks.
Home course!
I consider this my home course now that there’s no Goise Creek or Westpark (I live in Leesburg)
Great!
This is a great course. I loved it very much. I go there every week and I would surely recommend it to someone else.
Great shape
Course was in great shape this early in the year. Even though the rough was cut, it is still thick/dense so it will grab our club. Fairways, sand, and greens were very nice, A couple tee boxes need help!
Good not Great
I was happy with the course! Played it with a beginner friend and we both had a really good time!
The greens were fast and the fairways were in good shape!
The green-side fringe was my biggest area for improvement. Rough crab grass really made good shots feel detrimental and nearly impossible to chip from on a few holes. Then again - we should hit the green and not have this issue.
Good not great
Grass was incredibly long and the rough was impossible to get out of. Course conditions were lack luster but the course had a lot of character and I had fun. Will definitely play here again despite the conditions and the ridiculously slow pace on the back 9. Fair for the price could very well be exceptional with improvements.
Nice day to walk a course
I play Herndon quite regularly. The clubhouse is a great vibe and the staff are all great. Glad to get out on a very nice weathered day in April. The layout is shorter but I've seen the best of golfers struggle to break 80 here. The greens will be getting aerated next week but the punches really never seem that bad. Today unfortunately had a slower group in front which was skill level not lack of etiquette, and for that it was more accepting. The group behind us lacked patience as one of the guys hit over our heads three times. Nevertheless, I'll continue playing here frequently as I find this course to be one of Northern Virginia's best.
Please repair the Tee Boxes
Overall, a good golf course with great fairways, lots of sand in the bunkers and nice greens. The tee boxes on the other hand need a lot of work. Please focus your efforts and put some TLC into the tee boxes. Your golfers/patrons will thank you…
