The Hollows Golf Club - Lake/Road

About
Hollows Golf Club is situated in historic Hanover County, birthplace of Patrick Henry. The club boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are considered the best value in the area since the greens fess are good for the whole day, allowing you to try every hole if you wanted to. The holes are divided into three nines: Cottage, Lake, and Road, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The unique layouts of all three offer enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels. The Lake/Road combination naturally features plenty of water on the front nine. The Lake nine is routed around a large lake as well as a few small ponds. The back nine, Road, is the longest of the three nines, but only by about 100 yards. There is no water but there are some tricky doglegs and strategically placed bunkers.

Improved
The course is in great shape compared to 6 weeks ago. The greens are really decent, the fairways are we good and we caught pass are much better than they were when I played a few weeks back. Are they friendly staff to a course in decent shape and you have a great bargain on GolfNow.
Great Course
Have always enjoyed playing The Hollows, 15+ years. We will play there until we can’t play anymore
The greens have some fungus. Other than that, the course is in great condition.
Marty
Fairways were fine, greens need a lot of work bare spots from fungus, no true putting. Should shut down one nine and get greens back in shape
Nice Course & Very Forgiving for Seniors & Ladies.
I recommend this Golf Course to anyone from youngsters to seniors.
Loved this course
The fairways and tee boxes were great. The greens had a few spots that were not great, but much better than other courses this year. I loved it for my short game.
No value.
I won’t go into a long rant about this place. It’s just not good value. Greens had something wrong with them, but there was not a discount for having to play them. Pace of play was great on the front 9 and took three times as long on the back 9. Food reminded me of middle school. Coolers empty. Carts barely worked. Don’t spend the money here unless they fix their ish. Lots of better courses to play.
Nothing to complain or delight about.
Average track, decent for the money. Greens a little dry but I'd return.
Played course 100 times before
Worse condition I've ever seen. Fairways need water bad
Greens need aeration quick or they will be gone
My asphalt driveway is easier to put tee into than tee boxes here
It changed shape quickly in last few months

Hit a bottleneck
Pace of play was fantastic on our first nine, but then we hit a bottleneck on the second nine due to eight kids deciding they were going to pair up and play together. The clubhouse was notified and they split up, but then paired up again. Our first nine probably took 1.5 hours while our second nine took about 2.5. Overall a four hour round, but a ton of sitting around waiting during the second nine.
Conditions were "meh" at best. The fairways were okay, but the greens were very spotty. Some were 75% dead. All of them were rock hard, making it very difficult to get a chip to not run off the back of the green.
The Hollows
Great course layout. Fairways in top condition. Greens had some dead spots but rolled true.
Fun day!
Greens were badly burnt
Really friendly staff, but the greens were in rough shape. One joke was not functional. Disappointing.
Best Value
Hollows is a great public course where you get a quality course for its price. Great layout and the pace of play is usually good.
