Hobbs Hole Golf Course

Awesome course This course is a Gem that everyone should play very good layout links style only thing they had aerated the greens but they were still rolling very well we play this course many many times again awesome job to the maintenance staff

Hobbs Hole is a pretty average course to say the least. You get what you pay for. We drove 1 hour 30 min. from Alexandria, VA but it was pretty much what we expected. Nothing too "great", decent course, decent amenities. The thing I do like is the course is relatively easy, you can miss left/right on a lot of holes and still be "ok." I'd recommend the course, but definitely not driving more than 30 min to play it.

Plenty of spacing. Conditions were nice for the time of year. The tee boxes were a little rough but overall I’d play there again.

Mid Feb., tough time for any course in VA. All comments consider the time of year. Greens were good, fast, large, undulated, challenging but fair and fun. Large fairways. Not much trouble. Fast play, under 4 hours. Bunkers were nicely manicured. Fairways and around greens a bit rough..

The greens were in great shape and help me had 10 one putts

Hobbs Hole is a great course, the best for the money. The greens were rolling fast and pure, which was amazing because it rained all last night. Troy (the course pro) is always friendly and extremely knowledgeable. If you want to have a great round on a beautiful course with tremendous greens, Hobbs Hole is your course.

Hobbs Hole Golf Course continues to be maintained in excellent condition. The greens are fast and the pace of play is excellent even on the weekends. The staff is fantastic.

The people at Hobbs Hole and the restaurant go out of their way to assure that you enjoy the atmosphere. We got a great deal through Golf Now and had wonderful time.

I continue to very much enjoy playing Hobbs Hole and advise anyone to play there and enjoy food and drink afterward. Green are in great shape and fast, fairways are in nice condition. Bunkers were wet and had some puddles in them due to recent heavy rain. A few wet areas but mostly great. Drinks after and a blackened prime rib sandwich on a sub roll and the prime rib stuck out on all sides and was delicious. Highly enjoyable all around. Wish the course was closer but the drive to Tappahanock is pleasant and traffic free.

Greens are in the best shape I have every seen them. Fast and free of blemishes. Bunkers could use a little work but the area has had recent heavy rains so it is not fair to rate them too negatively

Course is in fine condition. Greens are as good as any around. Smooth and fast. Fairways in good shape especially considering the lack of rain.

Great staff, good range and putting area. Food is always good and the staff in the bar/restaurant are always friendly and helpful.

Bunkers need real sand. (I know, keep out of them)

Eating facility is too expensive.

i always enjoy hobbs hole. the employees have always been very nice. the course was very good. #8 green needs work. the restaurant was good. we ate there even though sometimes it can be very slow. good eats and average service. overall a very nice day and experience

A basically wide open course, in comparison to most in the area this time of year it’s well maintained. Great place to play especially for the price.

Excellent course with a fantastic staff! Surprisingly busy for a Thursday afternoon but decent speed of play with multiple groups walking. HIGHLY recommend playing here!

I absolutely love Hobbs Hole. The greens were fast and in great condition. Troy is always friendly and knowledgeable. The only bad part of the day was that the pace was slow. There were some older gentlemen that kind of held things up but I just hope I'm playing when I'm their age. This is always my go to course because I can depend on it being in great shape. HIGHLY recommend.

i have been asked several times this month to do a survey. Nothing has changed from my previous reviews. The course was in excellent playing condition, staff extremely friendly and still say that this course is a diamond in the rough. If you want to play a good course in a more than good pace of play and look forward to mowed fairways, medium fast greens and a great variety of risk reward holes then Hobbs Hole is just the right ticket for you.
