Hobbs Hole Golf Course

This course is the best golf I have ever played at! Brian the golf pro, is absolutely wonderful and his staff including Emma, and Hunter are wonderful! The golf course is in tiptop condition and it’s so wonderful to play here because it is challenging and beautiful! We love this golf course because Brian and his team put so much time and effort into the course and provide they best service ever! Brian’s golf lessons are top notch and if you’re looking for a great pro to teach you how to play golf or enhance your golf game connect with Brian because he is awesome!

I have played Hobbs for 10+ years. I was a member for 5 years until my river house became a vacation house and couldn't play enough times to justify membership. The course has always been well maintained and remained my go to course. However, in the last 2 years the rates have increased over 30%. Since they are the closest course to my river place, I accepted the increases.

There was a change this year that infuriates me. Though not currently a member, I was always able to book the first tee time (730 or earlier) Monday-Thursday until this year. I play fast (under 2 hours for 18) and having to book after 10am turns a 2 hour round into a 4+ hour round. They hold all early t times for members even though no one shows up to play. Despite discussing this at length with them, they refuse to allow a non member to book a t time prior to 10am. I agree that membership should have perks but if the members do not consistently play early, they would rather have no play at all.

I don't think that this review will not affect their current policy. If anyone from Hobbs reads this.....consider that there are several other courses nearby and the rate you charge is similar to other courses within 30 minutes and those courses will book times earlier than 10am.

My playing partner and I play Hobbs Hole GC about a dozen times a year. We both live over an hour away and it is always worth the drive. The day started out overcast, with some light to moderate rain, which soon turned to sunny and humid. The course held up good to the brief showers and posed no real additional challanges. What made this day special, for me, was that I shot an 80...40 one the front and 40 on the back. Not an earth shattering score, but I am also 80 years old. SHOT MY AGE! Regardless, it is always fun to play this course. Always well maintained and very resonable fees. Can be challenging to newer players, but if you keep it in the fairway, and hit greens, you can do pretty well. Obviously, we will return many more times.

In very good condition. They’ve obviously put some money into this course.

Other than the two groups of younger golfers that were ahead of us and slowed the course pace of play... the actual course is in immaculate shape... can't wait to play again.

Took 3.5 hours to play final 12 holes, no Marshall to be seen on a scorching day. Layout was fair and conditions were excellent. Fast greens great fairways.

Course was in outstanding shape. It’s fun to pay. Only reason not 5 stars is no starter. First hole is a free for all. I prepaid 7:30 tee time. Checked in at clubhouse. Go to first tee and. 2 other groups claim they have 7:30 tee time which is first of the day. The other 2 groups were members and said they have standing tee time. If so why is it available on golf now. I’m guessing they show up and expect to be accommodated. It worked out but definitely a horrible way to start your round with awkward conversation about who has the tee first. I’m sure it’s a member issue because club house attendant told me we were first group out, we were a twosome, and were paired with 2 members. At first tee they were now 3 because someone else decided to play that morning. Again, Blick out those tee times for members and not put on golf now. I prepaid for my round expecting to be first group off for the day.

Hobbs is a great course. This round was after a previous round in May. The round in May was awful primarily due to the abundance of bitting horse flies. The dragon fly that normally takes care of the horse fly hadn't arrived... Other than that the experience was good.
