Fauquier Springs Country Club

After reading multiple reviews, I was a bit worried about my tee time reservation. First off,Bob the gentleman in the pro shop was extremely pleasant.The course was in good shape, not great shape, we are having a drought currently. There were several tee boxes that were browned. I also saw a couple of sand traps that needed help.

The course layout was challenging and fun. Will I play this course again? Absolutely. The other players in my group feel the same way

I booked the round on Golf Now. I got a Tee times and cost for 18 holes of golf of $80. The cashier at the Pro shop insisted that the cost was $100 and charge me that amount for the round. That was the first time I experience a problem with a price given on Golf Now. (?) I would love to understand why that occurred and does that happen often.

I am 16, a 4 handicap and have a junior membership and i wish i never got a membership here it is so awful. I cant think of a single time where ive played here and the staff was even somewhat kind, they seem angry at you because you booked a tee time. The guest prices are outrageous for the conditions i wouldn't have my friends pay $5 to play here its so bad. The whole course is in just awful shape and i dont know why the pro shop people are so rude. I play here for my school team in the spring and know the course up and down and i have never once seen the course in a state of good conditions the grass is always just horrible on every single part of the course. The tee boxes are closer to bunkers than tee boxes and reading the green doesn’t matter because the every single one is diseased.

Bunkers were horrible. Some tee boxes had no grass and some greens were being repaired.

I came here for a guest day to check out the course, and booked my tee time online through golf now. I arrived an hour early and went into the pro shop. The gentleman working the computer barely acknowledged my existence, and when he finally did me the favor of ringing me up, it was for a completely different price then what I booked the tee time for. Not even a little different either, we’re talking about over $120 difference. I told the man I had booked the tee time for a different price, and he wouldn’t even look at the confirmation but just kept yelling that golf now has the wrong price and those are not their prices and they told them a week ago that the prices were wrong. Keep in mind I booked this time two days prior. After much back and forth arguing he finally honored the price I originally booked it for, but was incredibly rude throughout the whole process. After all that the course was in terrible condition. Half of the greens were diseased, full of pitch marks and looked like they hadn’t been mowed in a week. The course was overall very poorly maintained and I would never consider a membership here. Potentially one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a nova golf course. By far the worst experience I’ve had at a private course. The only good thing about the course was the pace of play, because nobody was there on a beautiful perfect day for golf. I wonder why.

I had to wear a collar shirt, which I did not like they would not let me play unless I had long pants because the shorts that I had were inappropriate they were shorts just like anyone else else’s but other than that the course was great and I enjoyed my play

This may be the worst kept course I have ever played in VA. Tee boxes, fairways, around the green, etc. There was not one spot on the course that had grass where it was alive, well manicured, or even worth hitting off of. Paid for 18, only played 9 because of this.

The course is not overly long and you get to use just about every club in your bag as the variety of hole length is excellent.

Fauquier Springs Country Club is in good shape. Greens were good some spots but nothing major. Greens were receptive and rolling true. Fairways were decent as well. Overall great value for a private course with very few groups out on the course. Basically had the place to myself.

This is the 2nd time we were met with an extremely rude staff member. We got there approx an hour before tee time and I made them aware one of the golfers are not going to make it. (We booked for 3). As soon as I let the gentleman know this he quickly informed me that we will be charged and we did not provide enough notice. I told him I understood. He then continued to lecture me that GolfNow users are horrible. I stayed silent paid the dues got a sleeve of balls and headed to the range.

Got back to putting green and then went back in and asked the gentleman for a key to another cart so my buddy could drive separate. He asked me why, I explained to him I plan on shanking my ball in the woods (joking, not hoking) and I didn’t want to hold up pace, esp if we are paying for three spots. He explained to me I don’t need another cart. I asked if he still are okay taking the $ for the third spot, he just looked at me and said you don’t need it and won’t get one.

I said okay, tee time is in 5 min we will head out, he then informed me I couldn’t. He said he had a group that started on the back 9 is coming through, AFTER, the guys that are already on the tee box. The group is on 18 currently. I asked if we could start on the back 9 then…he said no, I asked is that where everyone else started this morning, he said yes, I asked again he informed me that’s “impossible”.

Then he followed me out to the putting green made it awkward by staring at me until we were allowed to start…..9:55 was our start time, we booked 9:40 tee time.

It was a very weird experience. I’m not really sure what happened, but he for sure hates GolfNow players, made that clear a couple times.

The course, it was nice enough for the price. I guess I could be in the wrong for my questions I’m not sure, but I haven’t been treated that way before. It’s uncomfortable.

Don’t be filled by the Country Club title. Course is not maintained well at all. Could be a decent setup if it were. Not worth even close to what they charged.
