Course in great shape!
Returned to play this course after moving away many years ago and it was a treat to come back and play Bristow Manor. The course is in fabulous shape, especially the greens, which were immaculate. The bunkers could use a little work by adding some actual sand, but that is a minor deal since the rest of the course is in great shape. Pace of play was also great and the staff was very professional and helpful. Great bar and grill as well that stayed open late, so I was able to order some food after my round. I hope to play this course every time I’m back in the area.
Great experienced
Friend Lyne of the staff, the shape of the course and the value make this one of the best deals in Northern Virginia
Bristow is all ways good condition
I like and I will be back sometimes
Top course in Virginia
I have been playing Bristow Golf Course for many years, and I have never been disappointed. From the courteous and professional staff in the pro shop to everyone involved in maintaining the course, the experience is consistently top-notch.
The course is always in excellent condition, making it one of the most enjoyable places to play.
Nice course to keep in my rotation
Solid course, challenging but fair, great conditions (fairways and greens)...will play again in the future
This course is well maintained
Bristow Manor has always been well maintained. The greens had been aerated the prior week. They always use small tines. It was hard to see evidence of aeration! I was a single and told in the club house that I could tee off once the 1st tee was clear. That was immediately, and since I’d arrived 25 minutes prior to my tee time, I got out early. Fairways were in good shape, with a few spots on the fairways that showed what a brutal summer it’s been. Overall, the course was significantly better maintained than almost all of the other courses I’ve played this year. Thanks for a very nice golf experience!
Review
Black tees were in poor condition: not level and poor turf. There was some burn out in the fairways. Greens held well and were in decent condition after just recovering from verti- cutting. Carts were electric and in great condition. Range was mat use only when there is a large turf area that could have been used. Bunkers were excellent, with proper sand amounts. Overall, my round was a good value for the $35 Golfnow price I paid.
Bad Course Conditions
It was a hot, dry summer, but this should have been a $40 round of golf, not $120. Several greens had bare dirt patches. Fairways and first cut rough had lots of bare patches that were up to 20 feet in diameter. Tee boxes were bad, but I guess that’s to be expected given the condition of the rest of the course.
Golf courses, tee time intervals
The golf course operates with only a 4-minute interval between tee times, which resulted in excessive delays. A 9-hole round took over 3 hours, and a full 18-hole round stretched to 6 hours. In addition, the course conditions appeared poorly maintained. Unfortunately, due to these issues, I do not plan to return.
Split fairways
There are a lot of split fairways so you have to hit a lot of layups from the tee box. Even on par 5 you cant hit drivers without running out of fairway.
