Bidwell Park Golf Course

This is the only public 18 hole course in Chico and the conditions are embarrassing. There are round fungus disease spots all over the greens that ruin putts. The fairways are missing grass in many areas (see picture attached of number 8 hole fairway). The management does not seem to care about the upkeep of the course and it is not worth the money. Super slow play and the Marshal does nothing to move groups along. It took 4 hours to play 14 holes on a weekday and then I quit.

I've played Bidwell my whole life. The course doesn't change. What has changed is the terrible attitudes of most of the employees. Terrible course scheduling resulting in ridiculously long rounds and poor demeanor resulting in me having a bad taste in my mouth on the first tee. This sport is too expensive for this.

Thousand times better than Table Mountain in every aspect.

We had.a great time playing Bidwell. The staff Nick and Craig were very friendly. The course needs a lot of fairway repairs. Gophers have taken over.

The course is fie, but the cart paths and fairways make it almost impossible to use. You must crawl along at a snail's pace to keep from killi' your back.

Course layout is great but conditions are sketchy. Improvements have been made but not where they are needed most, like fairways which are uneven and you dont know what you are going to get. I was 20 yards in front of a green and had one foot in a 5 in deep rut and dry grass all around my shot. Money was spent on cart path improvement, but the need is greater on actual play area. And water stations need to be returned.

Overall the course condition was very good. Some of the fairways were pretty dry. The greens were in very good shape. I love Bidwell, but I wish you had a driving range.

I like the course layout and setting with canyon and creek. Fairways need work and water stations are needed during heat. Good course.

Totally mismanaged tee times. They put a 11 person scramble at one tee time in the middle of the day between other tee times on a weekend.. Groups had to ply through the scramble and it caused a major backup. No Marshall to speed up slow groups. Stacked up three groups deep on the tee boxes. Scrambles supposed to be separate tee times. This is a mismanaged golf course.
