Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Horrible pace and customer service
Charged me for s scone set of clubs. Was going to share with my brother while riding a cart because I flew in. Would not budge on charging me because it slows pace of play. We waited at least 10 mins on every shot. Ranger and manager questioned if we knew how to play golf. Way over priced too
Course is in great shape
This is a fun course. Fairways and greens are in good shape, even with the really hot weather. It is pretty far from green to tee so renting a cart is a good idea. Folks in the pro shop are excellent. Great value. I highly recommend this course.
Great Golf Now Value
Normally a course to play when I'm feeling on top of my game, finding Eagle's Pride on Golf Now for $10 made the decision of where to play easy. The afternoon tee time meant that it was also not very crowded. If you haven't played here, be prepared for some length and some challenge.
Fair Day
Course was in poor shape and greens were slow in comparison to other area courses. Pace of play was very slow and no course Rangers were on duty appearantly?
Disappointed in pace of play
Occasionally like to play JBLM, expecting toget done in 4 hrs. A foursome, a twosome and I heard a foursome in front of these groups had us waiting on practically every hole. Not my idea of having fun. Where was the players asst to control pace of play? Plus an enormous amt of water was being placed on course to keep it green...I understand why, but no roll in fairway and greens were soggy and slow.
A fun round
Course was in very good conditions. Greens were a little slow and some early afternoon watering did effect some putts or all phases would have been excellent.
Not the most friendly pin placements on this day, but made for some challenging shots.
Eagles Pride is a longer course for a 15-handicapper, but the pace of play has always been good and it moved long great on this day.
This course is long and will challenge all levels of play
We have a regular foursome and we golf this course at least once a year. Every time we find new ways to get ourselves into trouble. The course makes you think before your shot as it has fairly wide fairways but the natural undulation of the course will put your ball in not such a great place if you are not careful. Many elevation changes to make club selection a must. The 18th hole (which was a par 6 for ladies) is a great finishing hole that makes you want to come back and try again to beat the course. We Love the course even if we get our serving of humble pie just about every time.
New design of number 12 is excellent.
Hot summer day in 90s. Course has lots of shade and everything looked great. The only thing that I think would make course better is if they could make greens faster. This course always seems to have slow greens .
Hit em straight or pay the toll
Course in great shape. Greens were difficult because of the contour but surfaces were perfect. Fairways in great shape. We are seniors so played the senior tees and had a great round of golf.
Pretty course
Although the front nine's fairways could've used a closer mowing, I'm sure that it was due to the hot weather that they kept it longer....Back nine(green) was better maintained, holes were very challenging, and greens putted true.....Large, generous and tricky greens.....Would put on my play again list, and would include the red couse this next time.....
Not as advertised
I signed up for a 5:40pm tee time for 18 holes of golf with a cart for my wife and I. When I showed up at 5 PM for my tee time, I was told I couldn't have the cart for 18 holes because I had to have the cart back by 8pm. I could only have it for 9 holes. My wife is still recovering from double knee replacement surgery. GolfNow needs to do a better job of coordinating these deals with the golf courses.
Signed,
Disappointed
grat course
The course is always well maintained. greens run true and are always clean. Food in the Caddyshack grill is first rate. Staff are great in grill and pro shop. For a reasonably priced round of golf Eagles Pride is hard to beat.
Amazing value
The course is legit. Layout is tough. Reasonably good condition. $12 is an awesome deal.
Great public course with challenging holes and terrain.
Definitely want to keep in the fairways. Trees, elevated tee boxes on some holes and a lot of twist and turns. Walkable but fair warning, there are couple holes where the tee boxes aren't next to each other and couple uphill holes. The greens were in excellent shape, a bit slow but overall well kept. They have a restaurant to grab food, beers on tab and staff was friendly. Pace of play was good too, paired with another group. Had a great time and definitely would play again.
Changes need to be made to make this course a lot better
Ok, but course maintenance is hit and miss. The rough was over a foot long, with no second cut on most holes. It was pouring that day though, blue tees were at very tips on some ridiculously uneven lies on the longest, hardest holes. They need to improve last 2 holes. and flatten out some of the blue tees at tips, and make it even for right handed and left handed hitters on long 4s
the worst course this side of the mason-dixon county line.
Freeway noise was horrendous! Greens were all flat and botchy. Sands were made of rocks. Cart paths felt like woop te do's. And the goose droppings made it so you didnt even want to address your ball. If your ball went off the fairway ten feet it was lost in the knee high rough or dead branches.
jblm red/green
challenging course both long and narrow at times. Lots of fun, in good shape. greens were a bit slow, but in good shape.
Bad experience this time
The staff was friendly, the course started out slow and got slower. I was with my girlfriend and she has only played for 3 years. I waited for every shot I hit. Sometimes chatting with the 2 sum in front of us. We saw a marshall on the 14th hole. He said he was the first one there. The other one didn't come in today.
Great course for the price
The course was soggy and muddy in places. With no ball washers, made it a bit more difficult trying to keep your ball clean.
Someone from AZ could be forgiven for not knowing that sunset in Seattle on June 7 was at 9:04p.m. It wasn't dark until 9:15 or later. This course gets poor marks on customer service in several reviews, and it's possible they have one particularly detrimental employee.
Every golf course on the planet requires carts be in before dark!!!!!!
