The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie - The Links
About
The Golf Club at Hawk's Prairie offers two 18-hole courses, the Links and the Woodlands. Located just a few miles north of Olympia in Lacey, Washington, the club is one of the best golf values in the South Sound. The Links Course joined the original 18 holes in 1999, providing a stark contrast to the aptly named Woodlands Course. The classic Scottish-links design features open fairways and undulating greens. The layout sprawls north towards the mouth of the Puget Sound. There are some rolling hills but the course is still a nice walk, especially with the views of Mount Rainier along the way. You'll encounter numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout and water hazards come into play on half of the holes. It's a challenging but fair golf course with five sets of tees making it playable for all skill levels.

Great Value
Found this deal on Golf Now that was green fee and also included a cart. My wife and I wanted to golf last minute. Tee time was 10am and we played as a twosome behind a couple of foursomes but never really had to wait. It was a nice leisure round on a beautiful day. Course fairways had a few rough spot due to the extremely dry weather this summer but all in all in good shape.
excessive
The course played as expected. The fee to obtain a time has gotten out of hand. $9.00 is overboard, and as a former sailor --- I would not throw "YOU" a life
boat or any other device.

Not bad but not great
Decent course layout. Got a good deal through golfnow but wouldn't pay full price for this course. The Woodlands was recommended as better. A number of patchy areas/thin lies. Also, they continue to build more houses all over the course which tends to diminish the playing experience a bit.
Great deal for the money
The property is in great condition the greens were excellent - well worth a day out with your buddies playing golf.
Given the current drought, The Links is in great condition
The greens are in particularly good condition. Putts roll true. I've played several courses in western Washington that are dry and crispy. Hawk's Prairie is good value for the money.
Accessible and fun
Great value on golf now otherwise too expensive. Fairways and greens are very receptive. Great contrast to Woodlands. Par fives must be considered easy.
Closer than you think
Although this course is near Lacy, WA it took me less than 30 minutes from Puyallup. Greens were a little bumpy but considering how hot it's been the course was very playable, challenging but not hard with nice variety of holes.
Great Outing!
Only thing that needs improvement is the food offerings. Limited and my hot dog was NOT good with dried out bun. Expect better from an Oki course!.
Nice pace of play for a Saturday
We enjoyed the crisp greens and the pace of play for a weekend round was great. I'll be back to play again
Really good design
There was a lot of clover on each hole in the fairways that should have been treated and does not appear on similar courses.
great value and conditions
Fun course made you think about shot placement throughut. Excellent condition and great value for money. Also some nice views of the lower Puget Sound on a few holes.
Great Course
The drive is worth it. For half the price and half the pain than playing the Home Course in DuPont.
Great service and great layout.
Grounds crew
Had troubles with mowers in field of play during round. Unsafe for golfer hitting ball.
Great Course
Well maintained and great staff, long and challenging.
The Links course is in great shape.
Although the round was a little long at 4.5 hours, the weather and course were great. We got stuck behind their men's league. I played Woodlands last week in 2:45. So I think the great weather just brought out a lot of golferson a day with men's league. The greens played slower than they looked.
Great value to play a course not in the city.
Coming from Seattle to play course, wasn't too sure what I was getting myself into. The Links course plays different than the The Woodlands course, biggest difference is a lot less trees. Greens were in great condition, pace of play was great. Didn't have anyone behind us the entire round and only had to wait on the 16th tee box only. Well kept course, conditions. Was worth the drive.
highly disappointed
Came here for a change of pace from the Home Course. What a mistake! Only $8 cheaper at twilight and 10% as good. Previous persons rated this course highly. It is a 90s goat track. Narrow. BorIng. Not memorable. Over priced. Lousy. If you are looking for good greens and a bargain go to Tumwater or Capitol CIty. If youre looking for a legitimate layout go to the home course. hawks prarie serves no purpose.
Bryan
Great course and great weather - I only marked the course slow because the "6" pack in front of me wouldn't let a two pack play through - super course with fast greens.
We did the front 9 in 1.5 hours flat and took 2.5 on the back - needs a marshal to keep play on oace like their signs say
Not A Great Experience
Brutal pace of play...6.5 hour round, no marshall and no yardage markers.
Great day for golf
Beautiful day on the links. Pace was great and course was in good condition. I must play this course again.
