Best Bang For your $
Course was in good shape but it is a public course so not perfect. Greens were really fast but a little bumpy in places. Some tee boxes are a bit mounded and will eventually need leveling, bunkers were fantastic and pretty perfect as were the fairways. It’s a test of a golf course with many really great holes. Highly Recommend. Pace of play was 4:20
Good public golf course in Pierce County
Positive:
Fairways are dry and firm.
Greens are fast and firm.
Pace of play was good.
Negatives:
Tee boxes need an overhaul.
Some tee markers placed in temporary locations.
Prices are going up. Dynamic Pricing, what is that? Set a price and stick to it.
Spanaway Lakes. Glad we beat the rain...
My friends and I have played here numerous times. Weather was great for being April in WA. Overcast, mid 50's but no rain or wind during our round. We beat the downpour by about 20mins. Teed off right at 7:30 and I believe we were the second group out. The course was in really good shape. It was dry for a couple days prior but it still surprised all of us how fast the greens were. It's not an overly challenging course but with all the trees it will make you work if you're not fairly accurate off the tee. My only gripe is that I wish some of the grass was thicker in the fairways and around the green. There's lots of areas where the grass is really thin, or even muddy. It can make for some very tight lies. It's a city owned course so I'm not expecting country club conditions but I do think it's addressable. Finished in just over 4hrs. Pretty good day with the boys and I left taking home more money than what I showed up with. :)

Excellent on the course maintenance considering WA climate conditions during wintertime.
